On booking, we were informed that the the conference centre is 'fully functioning', even thought the hotel isn't open to the general public and this couldn't be further from the truth. The entrance is via a fire exit, so you can only get in if it has been propped open. There is no signage to help you find where to go (took 10 minutes to locate the room) and no staff on hand. The building is falling apart, with moths, flies and filthy and smelly furniture ... and big sticky fly traps on the back of doors. There is no where you can buy cold drinks other than water or any food and the car park and surrounding areas is revolting, full of hotel furniture, left out in the rain.
Very naughty to sell this as meeting room space, in my opinion it doesn't meet basic hygiene requirements and I won't be booking any Mercure Hotels in the future
Attended a meeting in one of the suites on the ground floor. Had to enter through a side fire door as couldn’t go through main reception due to building no work which is fine as well signposted.
However the overwhelming smell of damp was awful. The chairs in the communal area were filthy and smelt.
Not a great advert to book any future rooms for business meetings.
Don’t listen to staff as they don’t know what they are talking about. I donated blood at the Mercure in November and was advised the parking management system had been turned off for the day and I didn’t need to register my vehicle. It wasn’t and I am now battling a £100 parking charge. I have emailed the hotel twice and received no reply. I have also emailed the CEO but have received no reply. Clearly, this hotel appears to demonstrate absolute contempt for people doing something for others. I won’t be using this chain in the future, even for blood donations. Having given blood, it seems the parking management company want their pound of flesh. However, I have never defended myself in court so that will be an interesting experience. Hopefully my lack of faith in the legal system will be misplaced.
Went to the Mercure Leeds to donate blood on 22 November 2024. I and several other diners were advised the parking management system had been turned off and that we didn’t need to register vehicles.
Today I received a parking charge for £100. I don’t mind donating blood to the NHS but not to Smart Parking! Needless to say, I won’t be going there again, and if any other donation venue has parking management I will be turning round and going home. What has the world come to!
We went to the Feel Good Health Club here as a family for a treat before the girls went back to school. We found the pool uncomfortably cold and were surprised by the racist comments being made by an elderly lady in the water, though she piped down once she saw us.
The venue is very tired and showing signs of neglect, though my partner said the male changing area was especially grotty and had shady dealings taking place.
The female changing area wasn't the best, though the girls were a bit put off by the young male staff member coming in. A lady in the changing area said that there was no point in complaining as the elderly lady was the manager's friend and the young man was her son and he'd been bragging that he would soon be running the club.
It was the occasion of our Golden Wedding anniversary. The hotel set the tables as if for a wedding including, flowers, candles and drapes over the seats at no extra cost. We requested a self serve buffet similar in principle to that of a carvery . The vegetable soup was to die for and everybody raved over the salmon. The price was very reasonable a great place for a party.
We went on a day pass to the Feel Good Health Club at the Mercure Hotel and it was such a relaxing experience. The steam room is massive compared to most and works well, whirl pool, swimming, sauna, what more could you want? even now very reasonably priced...Karen was fantastic; so warm, friendly, going above and beyond with hospitality, getting us an extra chair for my friend and showing her timetables, etc etc. Love this place.
Our morning meeting at the Mecure, for 35, organized in Caberet seating, in the ballroom today went very well. Nash was an excellent host; always to hand to help ensure all went smoothly, from setting up our PowerPoint, to sorting the hot drinks, tidying and clearing away - and with charm, courtesy and efficiency. Thank you Nash.
Visited the leisure club and can see the improvement .Great staff who cares for the member and clean facilities .There are some work to be done but have been told its in process .Entrance is from the back of the hotel so make sure you ask .
Took me and my daughter to the swimming pool
We had an amazing time
We were met by a lady called Karen who was so friendly and very helpful
She showed us round and helped us out as we also forgot our padlocks for the lockers so let us borrow one if there’s
We will be definitely be back
Conference for our company and great day . We were taken from a difference entrance but when we went in the area looked clean and room was well set up. Lunch was great and plenty of option and tea coffee breaks with plenty of choices.
Our youngest son was married there on Saturday 29 April. It was an outside ceremony and luckily it stayed dry but a little cold. The ceremony went off without a hitch and after photos we made our way inside to the bar to wait for wedding breakfast. It was very nice and the waiting staff did a good job. When meal was being cleared away we were given the opportunity to go back to our other hotel to get changed for the wedding party. My wife and I being 67 & 70 decided we’d sit this one out and relaxed in our room. The next morning on asking how the party went everyone enjoyed themselves.well done mercure parkway, the bride and groom had a fantastic day to remember
Recently had a chance to visit Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel with family and friends on a Saturday evening and we must say it was truly amazing dining experience.
The food that was served was simply exceptional, the curries were mesmerizing. The diverse menu comes with a number of extra touches in the margins. Also, you can buy ale and beer at the restaurant side.
Fantastic meal, matched by the incredibly warm friendly staff and professional welcome from the operations Manager Gaurav, made our evening. Had opportunity to meet and thank Chef Gautam and Chef John for delicious food.
An absolute must, will be visiting soon again!
It was a family gathering. The venue was really nice and pleasant. The staffs were really polite and friendly. The manager was really caring. Service was excellent and food was amazing. Everything was just amazing
Booked this venue prior to lockdown for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding for 1st October 22. Despite the difficulties that the hotel have experienced of late, we had an amazing day. The wedding planner, Joel, has been extremely helpful with all arrangements needed to be rearranged, from accommodation to transportation from neighbouring hotel. The staff on the day were expertly managed, didn't get the managers name, apologies. All staff were polite and professional. The food was amazing, delicious tasting and served promptly and hot. The venue was fantastic, very clean and decorated exactly as requested. Would highly recommend this venue for a wedding . Thankyou to all staff involved on and before Saturday 1st October 2022.
Beautiful place, beautiful wedding. Staff go above and beyond to make sure your happy. Everything was very well organised. The tables were stunning. The food for the wedding breakfast was absolutely outstanding.....definitely 5☆. The staff were excellent making sure everyone was OK. The evening buffet was beautiful such a fabulous layout.......just stunning from start to finish.
We held our 30th Birthday and annual staff event here, there were around a hundred of us there. The room looked great, we had a lovely hot buffet and the staff couldn't do enough to help.
There were a few hiccups, the PA system didn't work and they initially only one coffee station but things were dealt with quickly by providing 2nd when the queue had got too long. They also helped us out with finding some clipboards which we forgot to bring. It's also excellent value for money in a lovely location.
My name is Danyaal K I went on a GetLicensed security guard training course this is my feed back on the course and my instructor; The instructor was amazing, had charismatic behaviour, taught clearly and really represented the meaning of security. Really nice guy and helpful I do really encourage anyone to do your security course with Qasim. If you don’t you will be losing out on an instructor who wants you to succeed leave the course with a pass and an increase profound respect in the security industry. Overall my instructor was very respectful showed a keen sense of knowledge and respect to me and everyone else also was a nice laugh. Secondly my Examiner Sham was very nice and caring when it came to exams, although very strict to exam conditions she was however comedic to help boost our confidences in the class which really encouraged me to focus and pass not let the nerves get to me, thank you to all the staff who helped.
what a pity about the hotel in its current predicament, but thankfully the conference and reception staff (.... and those admin staff hidden away) seem to be keeping the place afloat.
helpfull and cheerfull reception and conference staff, despite a lack of hotel guests, mean that delivering conference and training at the venue continues to be a pleasurable experience.... down to their efforts.
Threw a 60th birthday party for our mother and Mercure team sis a fantastic job in meeting all our needs an requirements. The event consultant (Maisy) and the team (Gurav and co) in charge on the day of the event were brilliant from the beginning to the end! The food was superb and the set up they did was so lovely. Cannot thank you all at Mercure enough!
