The hotel itself was great there was nothing to fault, it did the job we only stayed for one night as we were just visiting York and it had everything we needed, the receptionist was pleasant, the room was massive, clean and the facilities were great I'd stay again.
Don't like all the emails telling me about upgrades and being asked if i want to pay additional costs for breakfast etc it comes across as grabby and trying to be squeezed for more money if i want something I'm quite capable of asking, this is the exact reason I didn't have breakfast at the hotel and went somewhere else for it, because it comes across as rude and disrespectful.
Great customer service from entering the hotel until leaving. My room was very generous in size, very welcoming and comfortable with good facilities. My meal that evening was excellent, very tasty and well presented. The staff were very welcoming to my pugtzu Ted, which is always a bonus. We were in a ground floor room, making much easier when Ted needed taking out for a pee. Overall I was very impressed, and all at a great price
The wi fi could have been a little better and consistent coverage
Older but charming and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing!
All the staff were very friendly and always give time to help if needed.
Large bed.
Comfortable temperature.
Shower was stuck so you couldn't turn it up above 38 degrees, which was luke warm. The pillows were too hard. Dated decor in the room. Trouser press didn't work.
Charged for parking, despite it stating free on Booking.com and no response after I sent 2 emails requesting a reply.
Great location, really helpful staff. Lovely varied breakfast. Value for money.
Rooms a little tired / in need of refurb but that is reflected in the price.
Lovely staff, lovely building, great breakfast
V tired in places....chipped skirting boards, poor looking bathroom sealant, light not working...
Convenient, comfortable, clean. Great breakfast, easy parking included. helpful, courteous staff.
Decor in rooms a bit dated.
Overall experience and food excellent
Clean and spacious room had everything we needed for our stay. The staff were more than helpful and the location was perfect for the park and ride into the centre of York
We hosted our third live music festival at the hotel this year. Having had two excellent previous events, it was no surprise to find that things were nothing other than ‘perfect’. One of our guests even told us that it was the best hotel for food and associated service that he’d ever been to! This from someone who used to run a catering/events venue. Our events manager Beth was just amazing as always and every single one of the staff went above and beyond to deliver the perfect the level of service. Great to hear that bedroom updates will probably ensue in the coming months, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the current rooms. We have run similar events in 4* hotels around the length and breadth of England, but I strongly feel that Fairfield Manor is very much at the pinnacle of the great hotels flagpole!
Efficient and friendly staff, food was very good. Great location for visiting York, the Park and Ride was just a couple of mi utes away
Could do with a little renovation. Was exceptionally warm
It looks nice from the outside and in the lobby area staff pleasant and friendly
The noisy that rattled through the room due to a plumbing issue apparently its a common thing but was not made aware moved rooms at 11 15pm to find out the room we d been given was 2 single beds and a noisy bathroom fan that would not turn off .
They was no other options to change room again
Free onsite parking
The room was incredibly cold and no change when using the thermostat. Hotel is outdated.
