A great location for York (2 and a half miles away) with a bus stop outside the hotel. Lots of parking and lovely gardens.. Very comfortable rooms and exceptionally polite and efficient staff.
Liked everything.
The general facilities are good and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is very handy for the park and ride.
The room really wasn’t great. The window frame had a gap so the room was cold and draughty. The bathroom was disappointing and not up to a standard you would expect in a hotel these days, the toilet flush was missing the handle, the flush itself was hit and miss and the shower curtain was the wrong size so it was a hazard in the bath tub with too much fabric or soaked the floor if it was outside the bath. Maybe we were unlucky with the room we were allocated. The price was quite low for York but I’m not sure I would book again, depending on the price I would maybe pay extra for an upgraded room. Apart from the room the hotel had a lot of positives.
The location was lovely went around York city transport was fantastic
Our bed was uncomfortable to sleep
Excellent
Nothing
Excellent plenty of variety catered to all needs
Nothing
The whole setting and location to York
The corridor door was very noisy by our room 402
Think it’s a good location and staff were friendly
Having stopped there a good few times I think some rooms and floors are ready for refurbishing
Rooms a bit dated but comfortable. Staff excellent service and knowledgeable.
Can park and ride local bus in a short 2min drive from hotel.
Stayed in the old part, very authentic.
Breakfast was disappointing, plates cold, bacon was all strung together, only one choice of sausage tables set with one knife fork , had to ask for extra knife for spreading butter on toast/ marmalade .
Lady on reception was lovely, warm and welcoming.
A place to get dressed for a wedding etc. toilets were nice but nowhere to hang clothes or a plug for hair stylers.
Hotel is very convenient for Park & Ride into York. Receptionist lady was extremely pleasant & helpful.
Really impressed with this hotel. We attended for a murder mystery event and stayed 2 nights.
The public areas of the hotel (lobby, bar, dining room) were really beautifully decorated.
The breakfast was good, decent coffee, fresh orange press, good hot breakfast. The pastries needed warming but apart from that we left satisfied.
The bedrooms are a little dated but the facilities were good, tea and coffee making favilities, hair dryer, toiletries. A refurb would make a big difference but the rooms are a decent size, comfortable and clean. Most importantly they are really soundproof!! We were right next to the lobby and didn’t hear a thing.
Lovely staff and a great location, a short walk away from the park and ride into York. I would definitely stay here again if in the area
