The hotel was very comfortable and warm. The beds were lovely and we both had good a sleep both nights.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very good location and public transport was a few steps away into the city centre with a very good bus service.
The breakfast buffet was lovely with plenty of choice to suit all tastes.
When we arrived we were too early to book in but the lady on reception did not leave her seat at the back of the area and spoke loudly to us from behind a bank of screens. Not very welcoming at all. Unfortunately we saw the same lady use the same behaviour to another guest. This was in such contrast to all the other staff who were so friendly and helpful.
Everything as wishes.
Impeccable service and staff. Room was warm, clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was great with variety of fruit, cereal, pastries etc. Staff very friendly, helpful and kind. Highly recommended, will come back again.
No lift to the rooms upstairs and the WiFi wasn’t great.
Good service from Craig for booking back into same room
Excellent stay and very accommodating at short notice thanks to Abbie on reception for sorting early check in with room
The room was specious and clean.
Staff seemed to be covering multiple stations at once so there was sometimes a wait at the bar or to be seated for breakfast.
A excellent work stay again at the Mercure Norwich. The reception staff, Cat, Abs and Georgie are excellent and very helpful, Bar staff are friendly and quick, rooms are cleaned to a high standard
Our last-minute booking was handled brilliantly and we were warmly welcomed by Catherine, who was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much to ask, and her positive attitude made a real difference to our stay. Excellent service—thank you, Catherine
A last-minute booking for 20+ people was handled brilliantly by the Mercure team. They went above and beyond to accommodate everyone, including organising essential overnight kits at very short notice. A huge thank you to all the staff for their professionalism, flexibility, and genuine support—truly appreciated during a stressful situation.
Nothing
Very old and dated for the money they charge
Never book there again
I was on the ground floor but did note that there was not a lift to the upper level. The bathroom was roomy and clean, the bed comfortable.
Breakfast was a choice of cereals/pastries/continental with a good cooked breakfast available too. There was no unsweetened muesli available nor fresh natural yogurt on some days. A pot of tea would have been nice rather than a push button machine and hot plates for the cooked breakfast. Staff were polite and helpful.
I was part of a group booking, the evening meals were ok, more fresh veg would have been welcome. There appeared to be a lot of food left over sometimes, which I hope didn't go to waste.
I really liked the hotel — the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
Nothing
Decent hotel, food and drink is really good, great staff. Clean rooms. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.
Nothing really comes to mind.
I had room without air conditioning, window can't not open and after 6pm had really bad food smell same time.
So,I stayed in the room like in the sauna with smell of food.
I asked staff to change my room, but they told me nothing available.
So I packed my bags and was ready to leave and drive 4 hr home.
Lookily they told me they can swap the rooms for me.New room was a lot better,so really thank you to staff.
Hotel it's self need a lot updates for price they charging per night
