Staff and room
Breakfast a bit stingy
We stayed here for one night after our days in Williamsburg on our road trip.
Great rooms! We were surprised on how large they were. Clean, and the beds were comfortable.
The only issue we had, was the fire alarm went off, and everyone had to evacuate the building. The issues were handled quickly.
Breakfast was ok. Wasn't the best, and wasn't the worst. It was busy! Because it's a hotel with bigger rooms, bigger families stay. They told us that once it was gone, it was gone. That's the only downside. Alot of people!
Location and Breakfast
The air conditioning wasn’t the best.
When we were checking out, Michelle — who I had been communicating with by text during our stay — came out to speak with me. I didn’t initially realize it was her because she wears so many hats at the hotel; I had mostly seen her working in the breakfast area. She came right over, apologized for everything we experienced, and was genuinely kind and professional. She is truly lovely and left a very positive impression.
That said, while there were some positives, the overall experience was frustrating and fell short in several areas.
Check-in was slow, even though we were the only guests at the desk. The staff we interacted with were consistently very nice and polite, which made the experience more frustrating because it’s clear they are trying. Small touches you typically expect at comparable hotels — like complimentary bottled water — were missing, and instead they charge $3 for small bottles. The WiFi was also unreliable.
Our suite was large and spacious, which was a great value, and there are convenient food options nearby, including a 7-Eleven directly across the road.
That said, the room itself had multiple issues. The king bed was very uncomfortable, with a noticeable hump in the middle. The toilet didn’t run continuously, but after each flush it would run for 10–15 minutes. The hot water took close to 30 minutes to come through. The shower was also difficult to use, especially for kids — it lacked a proper handle, and the water pressure fluctuated between extremely harsh and barely a trickle.
The towel situation was particularly frustrating. We requested extra towels early in the afternoon and were told it would be taken care of by the time we returned to the hotel. When we got back around 4:30 PM, the towels still had not been delivered. I followed up again, and by 7:30 PM we still didn’t have them. We eventually went down to the front desk, where no one was there. After waiting, we called the main number, and someone finally came out — we had to take the towels ourselves, and they were still slightly damp.
The laundry situation was another issue. There are only two washers, and one was out of service, which doubled the time it took to do laundry — incredibly frustrating, especially when traveling with kids.
The indoor pool was a decent size with regular chairs (no lounge chairs). Although advertised as heated, it was noticeably cold, and the pool towels were worn and rough. The gym is very small but is available 24/7.
Breakfast was underwhelming. During our stay, they ran out of basic items — no tortillas for breakfast burritos, no apple juice, and at one point no utensils. Seating was limited during spring break, and there was consistently not enough food. Overall, the hotel appeared understaffed, particularly in the breakfast area.
On a positive note, the location is convenient — about 5 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg and 10 minutes to Busch Gardens — and free parking is a plus.
Overall, while the room size, location, and genuinely kind staff were positives, the experience was frustrating and could be so much better for the brand they are operating under.
During my stay at a Hilton Honors hotel, I was welcomed with warmth and efficiency. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the staff went and beyond to help. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the experience made me feel valued and eager to return.

Had a great experience at this hotel. Stacy (front desk) was very helpful with our questions and need for information. We appreciated the daily text contact from her as well. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast had plenty of choices. The hotel was convenient to all the attractions.
We had an amazing experience before we even arrived. We called beforehand to get some questions answered. Stacey was extremely helpful over the phone and very nice and kind when we went in. The kids loved the breakfast in the morning. Will definitely come back.
From the moment we walked in Stacy was helpful and very accommodating.
The gal at the breakfast buffet was also a sweetie!
This hotel is like home! The entrance is warm, bright and welcoming. Everything looks new and modern. Our room was huge!!! We had a two bedroom suite. Room was beautiful…lots of pretty pictures and the kitchen came fully furnished and ready to use with dishes, silverware, glassware and even a pod to run the dishwasher. Even though we didn’t need them this mini trip…it was nice to see they were available if need be.
We will choose this hotel time and time again!!! Stacy - THANK YOU
Our family of 7 (2 adults, 5 children) stayed at this hotel in a two bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite for two nights. With our kiddos activities we do a lot of travel and hotel stays and we will definitely stay again when we are in the Williamsburg, VA area! We were welcomed at the front desk by Stacy. She was very friendly and offered suggestions on local restaurants. During our stay I observed several interactions she had with other guests and she always had a smile on her face and really seemed to want to help ensure everyone had a great stay! The breakfast in the morning had a good selection and while there we met Morelia. I don’t think she stopped moving the entire time we were at breakfast! Restocking, wiping tables, and making sure everyone had what they needed. Our room was recently renovated and it was perfect for our large family! It was very clean and our son’s favorite thing was the high water pressure. If you are looking for a family friendly hotel that is clean, spacious, has a pool, includes breakfast, and has very friendly staff then I’d definitely recommend this location!
We had a fantastic stay at the Home 2 suites in Williamsburg, VA The general manager Kijana Casserly went out of his way to do everything he could for us. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good
The location was great. We enjoyed pool. The hotel was clean and so were the rooms
Everything was fine, the cost, but it was to be expected since it's summer time.
We got one of their rooms that had recently been renovated and was fresh and new. Two bedrooms with two bathrooms and central sitting area and kitchen worked great for a couple and adult son.
Breakfast was good but could have stayed open longer. When on vacation and sleep in, it is sometimes challenging to get down to breakfast before they close.
breakfast was good, different selections daily
pool extremely cold, often no towels, but staff had them on hand at front desk
This was the best experience we’ve had in Williamsburg. Stacy welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door. The rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. This will be our go to place when we come to the city.
There are so many things that I liked but the staff made everything so much better!!!
