The location was good for Boston and Salem.
The sign for the hotel was not there so getting deliveries was not easy also their pool and fitness room were both closed for renovations which they did not tell us about before our stay.
We admittedly didn’t read the notice about construction during our scheduled stay in Peabody, MA. We visit this location almost exclusively ( We have stayed at the Hampton Inn next door ) and in the past haven’t been disturbed by the long term on going construction.
It was nice that the Front Desk Agent Idanis Martinez Fuentes reached out via email explaining the pool and exercise room would be unavailable during our stay even if it was sent after we were on the road for the 4.5 hour drive to the hotel.
Unfortunately that is where our happiness ends. The second floor hallway still had fresh spackle on them which got on my husbands’ arm. The carpet outside room 204 and down the hallway was covered in either paint or spackle foot prints. The bathrooms off of the lobby were both filled with construction equipment making them unaccessible. The urinal and enclosure for the toilet in the men’s room were removed completely making privacy impossible as the door doesn’t lock. The woman’s room could not be used at all because there was equipment stacked on the floor and sinks. We found this to be an inconvenience as my husband has mobility issues and had to leave breakfast to go back up to the room.
The second evening we tried to use the microwave only to find it didn't work. We called the front desk and were told the best they could do was send someone tomorrow/Sunday to look at it. This left my family with the only other option offered by the staff. We had to bring our food to the lobby to use the microwave downstairs. When I got down there i was asked to hand the food to the person at the counter so he could microwave it. Handing the food over to someone else was not ideal but we had no choice. The building at this time of evening is filled with workers prepping and painting our hallway, so the food had to travel through smells as well as garbage bags and tools on the floors. We asked for another set of towels as we were 4 people and only had 3 towels in the room when we called about the microwave at 5:15 on Saturday. We were told there were two people at the desk and one would bring up towels soon. We received the towels the next day at 6:10pm. When we checked in we were told the room would be cleaned on Sunday. When we returned from a day of swimming in saltwater, we found the room was not cleaned, the microwave was not fixed or replaced and the towels we asked for did not yet arrive from 24 hours ago. We eventually, out of necessity, went down and got the towels ourselves.
As a family of four who has knowledge of what to expect from the room’s accommodations we were surprised to find a chair missing from the dining table as well. The desk chair had been rolled in as a replacement leaving the small separate desktop we would have set the laptop upon without a chair.
We were surprised some concessions weren’t made for guests to use the pool and exercise room at the nearby Hampton Inn next door. The construction has been going on at least since our last stay here and you would think the hotel would have made some progress and plans when the work started to interfere with guest experience.
As a Hilton Honors member and HGVMax member we were surprised and disappointed at the inconveniences and level of service rendered.
We travel to this area several times a year but we will think twice before booking this location again.
This was also emailed to corporate who emailed back to say it was sent to the local Hilton Homewood Suites. It is 5 days later and we have not heard anything.
The room was exactly what I was looking for when I needed a place to stay with my 5 bridesmaids.
We wish the pool was open but it was good for a 2 day stay.
The location is great, we usually stay here because it’s close to the places we like to visit.
It’s under construction, it’s dirty, nails on the floor, there was a spilled drink in the elevator, our bathroom was not cleaned well, we didn’t stay for breakfast because the construction was going on in the same area and it was dusty. It was noisy and the floor we stayed on smelled like heavy cigarette smoke. Water was to be shut off between 10-2 which seems a bit crazy and none of this was disclosed when we booked. We had stayed there several times before and noticed they were starting some work a bit ago, but nothing is done months later. I’m not sure how they can be open with all that going on.
Staff was great, great value, room size, comfy beds
Was under construction, roof leaked, no water in hotel room next morning so couldn't brush teeth, use bathroom or shower.
No where near even a 1 star the place is a building site with returning about the car park this place needs to be closed till it’s refurbished and fit for purpose.
Rooms were spacious clean had everything you needed
Pool was closed a lot off renovations going on.not near any public transport
Location is great
Staff was almost non existent. Talked to one person at check in who said very little and was not friendly. Never saw another staff member after that. Did talk to one on the phone about a charge on my card and they were super rude. Hotel is under construction but was dirtier than it should have been. Our room was not great.
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel in Boston. I stayed at the same hotel brand in Michigan, and the service there was amazing. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the experience was great. Unfortunately, this Boston location was completely different.
The room had a bad smell, the beds were very uncomfortable, and even my children complained that they could not sleep because the beds were too hard. The couch was horrible and felt like sleeping on wood. The hallways and the room smelled very bad, almost like mold or something rotten. The renovations also made the place feel worse, not better.
I paid $569 for two nights, and for that amount of money, I expected a much better experience. What made it even more disappointing was that shortly after checking out, my son needed to use the bathroom, and when we went back inside, we were told there was no restroom available. I had just been a guest there only minutes before, so that was very upsetting.
I would not recommend this Boston location unless major improvements are made, especially with cleanliness, comfort, smell, customer service, and guest accommodations.
Staff was nice and helpful
Place is under construction which was not disclosed when I booked
This hotel is under construction- this should have been disclosed prior to arrival as I would have booked somewhere else. Also, the pool and fitness center are closed- again we found out upon arrival. The pullout bed/couch has stains.
We were not informed of extensive renovations. First room assigned had 6 buckets in front of room to catch water from cieling leak. We had to request a new room. Breakfast area used by construction workers enjoying our breakfast. Seats in dining area were filthy as well as seat in our room, the spare blanket was filled with cigarette burns all over, behind toilet seat it was filthy. Permanent residents were taking plates of breakfast meats and were rude and nasty to help. Permanent guests sitting in lobby watching tv with their dog on sofa. Pool, gym and lobby bathroom were not working. This was a 20th wedding anniversary that we drove 5 hours to join our friends who flew in from Texas and it was a disaster. We finally got to speak to mgr as we checked out and he said to let you know and he would make it RIGHT because we were never informed of the construction going on. So for all of the above inconveniences we are requesting a FULL refund from this terrible experience.
Staff was ok the pool was closed and I was not made aware prior to booking I wasn’t overly impressed with the hotel a lot of construction going on with smells that triggered migraines had to go to the front desk for everything just not a great experience
Location to our event.
Overall experience.
The various front desk attendents at the different shifts. No one is on the same page and all responses are we have to check with the manager.
The initial issue was we were informed we had checked in the day before on Thursday as we arrived on Friday afternoon. We originally had booked two nights but had canceled a week or so before. We had received an email reponse from the hotel themselves referencing our new arrival date of Friday. The attendent inform me we had both rooms for two nights and were being charged for. They said Bookings never confirmed or changed our reservation. I then showed them the copy of the confirmation email from the hotel. I was then told they would look into it. The next morning we were leaving at 6am for our event and i checked with the front desk only to be told nothing had changed.
At this time we were suppose to be picking up boxed breakfast to go that we had discussed both on calls before we arrived and in person at the hotel the day before. The morning attendent then informed me they do not do that and did not have anything ready for us.
Now for the hotel itself which we had booked a year in advance for our stay.
On arrival there was little to no parking due to construction fences closing off quite bit. The lobby had plastic up blocking off large portion of the lobby area along with protective paper on the rugs including the elevators. At the elevator was a printed sign indicating the pool area, the fitness center along with another area were all closed due to construction.
Now for the sixth floor and our rooms. The rugs are worn with lots of stains. The furniture had tears in the fabric and one rooms, the bed sheets were also torn. Both rooms the bathroom sinks were not draining and after a few minutes i was able to pull out large hair clumps that had built up blocking the pipes.
