We did not stay in the room booked for $161 at the Hampton Inn - Wilkesboro on 11/22/25. Upon arrival, the room had visibly not been cleaned, vacuumed, and checked by a maintenance manager. We found dirt, debris, and glass shards on the floor, and the toilet was clogged and would not flush. Booking.com customer service was notified upon check-in and are currently working to complete the refund process. We had conversations at the property and over the phone with hotel staff for them to provide compensation for the unsatisfactory condition of the room that should have been cleaned and backchecked before we arrived. I will not be staying at this property again, and expect a full refund for this horrible experience. Hotel staff would not accept responsibility for the poor appearance of their property and did not issue an apology.
This property is unclean and poorly managed. After discovering glass shards and a broken toilet during check-in, I would have expected an apology or refund for the condition of this room, however neither has been issued. Hotel staff lied and said that the room had been checked by their custodial team to be in well working order for me (the guest) before we checked in. The hotel staff did not accept responsibility for the horrid conditions of the room.

The breakfast was nice, varied, and the one who prepared it was quite pleasant. The location was convenient. The room was very pleasant. I appreciated the welcoming cookie and the setup of the lobby/restaurant area. I did not use the workout room or the guest laundry, but I was happy to see them there. The bedtime book library was a nice touch, also. The location was very convenient.
The breakfast was varied, but I have issues with several ingredients, so for someone with my condition, there were not enough choices. The problem is primarily milk. I expected the dietary issues to be a problem, so I brought a cooler as a backup for choices. The room was fine in every way. I would have enjoyed it more if the TV controls had been easier to use and if I had recognized that the one chair in the room was adjustable. Also, I paid for two nights, but no one serviced my room after night one. Also, to use the Wi-Fi, I had to sign up for Hilton Honors, which I didn't particularly want to do.
I am not an early riser now & not much variety to pick from
Our check in, unable to find our book.com which was placed well over a month ahead & verified. Took almost an hour to ck in. Thankfully we did get a room.
Room was not clean and smelled bad of odor, dampness and stagnant air. I was charged for early entry without being told until I got there.
The staff is great and very friendly. The overall facility is good. We have stayed here before.
The beds in room 205 were very uncomfortable. None of us had a good nights sleep.
