This is a great spot, I’ve stayed here several times! The staff is always super friendly and the facilities are very clean! It’s right on the edge of town, which makes it easily accessible to all the restaurants and activities!
Super cozy and staff were phenomenal. Plus we saw a sloth in the property.

Place tucked into a neighborhood few minutes from restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff. Great views of cloud forest from roof. Brought us juice while sitting on rooftop. 2 comfortable bedrooms and full kitchen.
It was great and not too far from town. Our hosts were excellent in helping us with transportation to and from our excursions. Breakfast was great every morning and was just overall nice.
We loved our stay at Calathea Lodge. They helped us book awesome tours with excellent guides at prices that saved us a bit of money and a lot of time! We also really liked the location. The lodge had a deck with a great overlook and was walking distance to downtown. We took that walk and really enjoyed a great afternoon right after arriving. We took the night tour and saw some very interesting night life in the nearby forest. Our tour the next morning through Monteverde with Xavier was great! He was meticulous in adjusting his scope so that our cameras took the best pictures. We got several pictures that could actually be framed! We followed the tour bus in our own vehicle and were really glad that we did. We were able to stay in the Monteverde Cloud Forest much longer than the rest of the group and return to the lodge at our leisure. There are so many paths to hike, you don't near cover the forest during your tour as you are always stopping to see something interesting with the guide. The guide saw so much that we would have missed - including a baby viper snake and a rare beautiful Quetzal bird.
The room was spacious, clean, and very enjoyable. Overall we would recommend this lodge to anyone - great stay and great value too!
Friendly staff, spacious suite, and outstanding breakfast! The view was gorgeous from our 2nd floor room, and the shared balcony area was very welcoming. Great place to stay in the Monteverde/Saint Elena area.
The room was exactly as depicted on the website. Breakfasts were great, and we saw some beautiful birds right on the property (motmot and parrot). We were given misinformation about a tour and were told that the park entrance fee was included but it was not. Overall, we would stay at this property again.
The staff (ie: Glenn) were great and friendly. I was a bit surprised by the location when we first arrived as it's in a bit of a residential sort of neighborhood. However, it was not a problem and we were just a short drive into the downtown area for shopping and dining. The breakfast that is included was very nice. There is an elevated deck with comfortable seating offering great views to the west. You can actually see the Pacific if it's not too hazy.
