Hampton in Portage
Pros:

The staff was friendly everytime we needed them. The breakfast was delicious and hot and they had plenty of variety.

Cons:

The pool was down and we were really looking forward to it. We would like to have been compensated a little because that was the main reason we stayed at this hotel.

Property manager must be ok, since staff was a plus; but renovation could be better managed.

Location was ok; breakfast was ok.

Cons:

Stairway closed, necessitating either long walk or use of extremely slow elevator. Luggage carts were filthy.

We were visiting family and this was close to their home. We only stay at Hampton Inns. Always consistent. Clean, quiet, perfect for what we need.

Friendly staff, good breakfast

Cons:

Bed wasn't comfortable, tub felt like it had a trough down the middle which made me lose my balance, towels were dingy although not worn, and the metal frame under the sink was rusted

The fitness center needs attention. No towels to wipe down the machines for the two days I was there. Breakfast items were missing and not replenitshed.

We've stayed at this same hotel on occasion over the years as we visitied the Michigan lake beaches. It has been nicely remodeled. It is a fine place to use as a home base for visiting a Dunes beach
