Pros:

What a treat! This palace is a beautiful and unique place to stay. The host is 10th generation of the Roys (Rajbari) and gave us a fascinating tour while explaining the history of the palace and the family’s efforts to restore it. The palace continues to play a significant role in the educational and cultural life of the local community to this day.
While visiting the Victoria Memorial building in Kolkata we noticed that honourable mention is made of the Roys family for their work in advocating for educational advancement. The family and the palace have faced a series of challenges and upheavals over the years, not least being initially placed in East Pakistan during partition before being reclaimed as part of Indian West Bengal. It is a rare gift to be able to learn about this a family who were so personally impacted by historical events.
Cossimbazar Palace is a the best place to stay if you want to explore the many significant heritage sites of nearby Murshidabad. It was a real privilege to stay here, we loved everything about it.

Very quiet and serene, you will definitely find peace. Good food, only lack of Ventilation in some of the rooms.

Pros:

A heritage property with many original rooms. Staff helpful.This was not a busy property when we visited which is a shame as I presume the room lettings help with the ongoing upgrade of this lovely old property.
