A value for money stopover - don’t expect too much
Pros:

Staff are pleasant but the hotel is pretty grim. Let’s just say it hasn’t moved with the times lol.
The restaurant was shut but the location is fantastic, directly on the square, with lots of restaurants to choose from.
It was a value for money stop on our way back to Nice. You get what you pay for.

È uno di quei posti che andrebbero preservati. Un hotel storico, che mantiene il fascino del passato, ma che ha investito nella sistemazione delle camere. La nostra era spaziosa, confortevole, pulita.
La colazione è molto curata, con tante opzioni dolci e salate.
Il personale accogliente e gentilissimo.
La semplicità delle cose fatte bene. Ecco perché questo hotel va provato.

This auberge is situated in the centre of Castellane, with a river at the rear that you can swim in. The breakfast was varied and there was plenty of it, lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. There is a large rear shaded terrace which was quiet snd you could relax have a drink.
Castellane has a friendly, busy but relaxed vibe, plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay again.
Ask for a room on the rear so that it is hidden from the buzz of the square.

Lovely area, would definitley visit again! Rooms were a little small which caused issues with the doors, fans didn't work in rooms, but nothing that prevented us from having a lovely time!

Problème avec la douche, début eau chaude puis plus d'eau chaude.
Porte salle de bain WC qui grince qui nous réveille quand quelqu'un va au WC la nuit.

Sehr schöner Alter urfranzösischer Gashof mit sehr guter, wenn auch nicht preiswerter Küche. Abends kann man noch schön durch die Kneipen ziehen, obwohl der Ort nur wenige Einwohner zählt, ist die Dichte an Kneipen und Restaurants bemerkenswert.
