Excellent stay with spacious rooms, especially if you are attending an event at the Pacifico!
Pros:

Excellent hotel with very professional staff, well-appointed, spacious rooms and very good amenities overall! The location is also perfect if you are attending an event at the Pacifico.
Was quite a wonderful experience to stay at this place and I would definitely return when I am in Yokohama next.

Cons:

Returning back to my room on one of the nights, I did notice a cockroach on the desk. This was disturbing to observe, but I also did not report it to the hotel, so I cannot mark them against it severely.

Good location, non courteous front desk staff, old sofa
Pros:

Location of hotel is good. The city view from my room is fantastic.

Cons:

(a)The "non Japanese front desk staff" are not very courteous. I wonder if this is a training issue? I visited Japan over 50 times and this front desk experience rank the bottom among my stays. Even a business inn in a small town has more courteous staff.
(b)Sofa in my room is in bad condition. The cushion is sagged/deformed. The fabric is frayed/torn and worn. Maybe this is the original sofa from when the hotel was first built in the 90s. Seats on my JR train next morning are in better condition. For my stay, I avoided sitting on my room's sofa all together.

In summary, the overall experience is not expected from a hotel carrying the "Intercontinental badge". In the past 12 months, I visited Intercontinental properties both in Europe and in South America, and both properties are far superior than the Yokohama Intercontinental. This is unfortunate for a property with such good location.

海の景色を存分に楽しみました

レセプションからルームサービス、ベルの方々まで、とても感じよくご対応いただきました。
海側のお部屋をいただいたので、ものすごく良い景色を楽しめました。ツインのお部屋を一人で使ったこともあり、とても広くて快適でした。お部屋も日本にあるホテルらしく、細々と配慮されていて、良い時間を過ごすことができました。ルームサービスもホテル内のレストランもおいしかったです。食事の場所の選択権やホテル内においしいパンやケーキ、ドリンクなども販売しているお店があることもありがたいです。数分の距離に公園や赤レンガ倉庫などがあり、海沿いにお散歩ができることも大きなポイントです。ホテルを出てすぐにコンビニもあります。

Cons:

強いて言えば、ルームクリーニングがスキップできるようなドアに表示するサインがあるとクリーニングの方々にも便利かもしれないと思いました（既にあったらごめんなさい！）
