It was hard to find, but finally after asking a local, I got to the hotel. Then I didn’t know how to check in. After calling the number on the door, I was able to find the check in desk. The area was a bit run down, but I guess Tel Aviv was awarded the most expensive city in the world to visit, and I picked a cheaper place, so what should I expect?
It’s not a standard hotel, was not easy to find but we liked it. Take sea view if you can, it’s more quiet. On the other side it could be very noisy if you open windows. Balcony was not a balcony, but public walkway. It was view of marina, barely could see the sea. But still was nice. Don’t expect your room to be cleaned everyday. Also liked the atmosphere at the reception bar. They have a hostel as well, organised some events. Saw some hotel rooms have showers right in the rooms.
This property was dirty and it smelt
Property is hard to locate. Communication was nonexistent- my email was not answered, phone number not available, at least, I couldn’t reach anybody at the number provided. But property was located, everything else was great. Good location, clean rooms- nothing to complain.
All good...
Everything was great
Adam who checked us in was extremely helpful, he had prepared two page list of good quality restaurants , bars and places of interest. He recommended two tours out of all the options, telling us the pros and cons of each. very respectful young man. Property is in a run down area of the city with a lot of graffiti and behind a derelict building, first impressions are not good, once inside rooms was comfortable. Bathtub is part of the room, right next to the bed with surrounding glass. Ocean view a must as the road side rooms are noisy. although the area is run down, is very safe to walk around at night . Close to good restaurants, bars and promenade.
The people were great in reception Zak Adam Monique very friendly helpful
Nice place on the beach. Difficult to find. Our taxi driver, who claims he has known the area for 20 years, could not find it. We had to get out on foot in the rain and ask at two other places. Needs better signage, directions from the main road. Very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay after we found the place.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Located close to the beautiful Gordon beach and lovely Ben Gurion Street
Friendly staff, great location and cozy room. We def will come back !
Located in an old commercial building.
Felt not safe. Hard to find this hotel. Even taxi driver wasn't able to.
The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. My son and I enjoyed our stay, felt comfortable and secure and the location on the marina was awesome.
Having traveled several times to Tel Aviv and always interested in discovering a different hotel, I was intrigued by Expedia's description of the BayWatch Hotel and booked a week there at the end of November.
The hotel is definitely in the boutique category, having a total of ten rooms. I had a room that faced the marina. The patio area had a small table with chairs and a hammock. A stunning view! The staff was exceptional -- especially Zack, the manager. They create a very homey feeling -- which is enhanced by the daily complimentary happy hour of wine and pretzels. The room was spotless, though Spartan. There are no frills but everything one needs to be comfortable.
The one negative is the difficulty in finding the hotel. My taxi driver went up and down Hayarkon looking for #165. The driver got out of the car twice to ask for directions. Finally, he said he knew where it was. We drove inside an overpass. The driver pointed to stairs and said, "Your hotel is up those stairs." Luckily for me, the driver carried one of my bags for me up the stairs.
Here are the directions. Go to the Leonardo Art hotel on Hayarkon. Walk south (down hill) past the entrance to this hotel. You will see to your right a glass stairway and across the way a curved stone stairway. Take either one. At the top of the glass stairway, turn to the right and walk about 50 feet. BayWatch Hotel will be on your left. At the top of the stone stairway you'll find BayWatch. Once you find it, you'll love it!
Very nice hotel with perfect location. The only issue is it is a bit hard to find it even you are already very close to it
There was no elevator and difficult to get in with luggage. Delatitated hotel
This review is for the hotel management and not for the living comfort of the hotel. Had a change in travel plans, so I couldn’t come to Israel with my group. I was merely 2-3 hours past the cancellation deadline on a 3-night stay. Hotels.com agents contacted the property to seek a resolution since the deadline had literally just past. Multiple phone calls over 48 hours to reach a manager on duty had failed to result in anything. I respect the cancellation policy, and should have personally paid more attention to call a few hours earlier. But this wasn’t possible due to our flight cancellations. Asked the hotel to be flexible and for the possibility to charge me for the first night’s stay and refund the rest since I’d be out of a large sum of money on a trip I wouldn’t be taking at all. Management completely denied the requests and charged 100% of the stay. Hotels usually work together with their guests during non-standard circumstances. But these folks weren’t willing to listen.
Great location and staff! Clean rooms. I highly recommend this place.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and went the extra mile to help us...thsnkyou!!! Location was great. We had a room with sea views and could watch the sunset.Nice complimentary happy hour drink! Nice small tidy and quiet mid range hotel.
This place was hard to find—our cab driver had no clue, we asked around several people and no one has heard of it. I booked via Expedia and the listed number was wrong. The hotel name seems to have changed recently. But wow, what a gem we found. Once we settled in the clean cozy room with a balcony facing the beach, we were happy campers. It’s a basic but renovated hotel with all we wanted with a clean comfortable room with a kitchenette, TV, free drinks in the lounge, and friendly staff right on the promenade. My 10 yo daughter had a blast taking a private lesson for paddle boating. Next time we like to stay here longer and she can take surfing lessons. Money well spent for sure.
