Rooms nice. Clean. Great location.
There were no parking available at the hotel. And when we encountered a slight issue trying to pay across the road at a school. One younger receptionist was helpful and sorted the other on the left was not helpful. Saying twice that it was nothing to do with them and offered no advice whatsoever. I presumed rightly that they'd likely seen the issue before with their residents. Also for £150 I would've expected breakfast
The hotel itself is really lovely & the reception area is welcoming. Staff were friendly & helpful on arrival.
Sadly my courtyard room smelled strongly of damp or what I assume was damp. Certainly since the hotel allow animals (which is a positive) there is a chance it wasn't just that. The entire courtyard could not have a hot shower the morning of our departure as the boiler was broken. We weren't informed until people started to complain. The hotel did offer to check us out later or use another room when one became free to shower was sadly not practical as our party had travel commitments. Since we'd all come from various parts of the country & one from France, this didn't work for us. We then headed to breakfast, staff by then aware of the shower situation & our breakfast order wasn't prioritised, we were informed of a wait. We'd expect a Sunday morning is typically busy for the hotel & therefore managed accordingly. Thankfully this was rectified but it took another complaint from our party to get things moving. It's a shame because this hotel seemed really lovely but for the cost, our experience wasn't the most positive. I'm sure this was a one off but to shower & eat before you leave for the day are two pretty basic requirements from a hotel stay
Lovely hotel
Lovely staff very friendly
Great rooms
Fab location good breakfast
The worst evening meal I’ve had at a hotel
Tough beef stroganoff , tasted like it had been fried in old oil and out in sauce after .
Was supposed to be beautiful slow cooked beef .
Mash was tasteless and sauce too, VERY chewy meat and I left 3/4 of the meal .
I felt so sorry for the waitress as she was so lovely but what could she say .
I let the reception know when we left how bad the food was at night time and it really lets the rest of the hotel down
The breakfast we found to be really good , we just made a mistake by going for the evening meal and breakfast package .
Na aankomst op de kamer werden we meteen gebeld of alles ons beviel.
Het personeel in het restaurant bij het diner kwam heel gehaast over terwijl het niet druk was.
Everything
Nothing
I can not give a positive review. My wife was too ill to travel and despite telling the hotel five days before they showed no compassion and refused a refund .
The staff were excellent nothing to much trouble..great customer service.
We were upgraded roims and itvwas beautiful clean and warm.
Nothing
Good location, clean and quiet.

Beautiful design, clean & comfy
Beautiful hotel, easy check in and lovely helpful staff
Room described as interconnecting and wasn’t really as had its own external store.
Fine for my age children but not for families with younger children
This is the first occasion that we have stayed on this side of York. We found the hotel to be clean and the staff helpful. Parking is ample but adds another £18 per night on the bill. The walk into the City is 10 to 15 minutes. The rooms are sufficient, clean and everything that you require. The bathroom was shower only, but for us that was no issue. The restaurant had a limited choice but the food was good.
My only minor point was that there was no alternative draft beer on tap. Only 1 lager at nearly £7 a pint.
Decor was great. Room was large and bathroom was also large with a good shower. Bed super comfy.
Not exactly clean, a lot of dust and also mould in the bathroom from not being cleaned properly. A lot of noise from upstairs stomping their feet on the wooden floor boards. The heating kept turning on for no reason in the middle of the night and had to wake up 3 times to turn it off.
Decor, comfortable bed, facilities in room. Staff at breakfast were exceptional.
