The location was great but the apartments need an upgrade. For the price we were very disappointed.
Pros:

Our first room had a leaking dishwasher. We moved to another room which then had an air conditioner that leaked water all over the lounge floor and into the bedroom.

Cons:

We then moved rooms. Our room was on the ground floor and the plumbing above us woke us several times.

Really disappointed after previous positive experience

The location is great.

Cons:

Unfortunately the Adina was not as good as our previous stay in September 2024. On that visit we had a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor on the pool side of the building. This visit we only required a one bedroom apartment and on arrival it had palm fronds overgrown in front of the doorway, had limited natural light and the cleanliness was not up to the usual standard (e.g. the bedside table had not been cleaned and there was sticky residue on the top surface and lamp which I wiped down before using).

We were woken in the early hours of our first night's stay to the compressor of the air conditioning unit in the lounge. As it was a public holiday weekend there was no chance of it being looked at but this continued throughout our stay and keeping the unit off only had limited effect as there was also compressor noise from the AC unit on the floor above. We were provided with a freestanding unit in the meantime.

The dishes had been washed but left in the dishwasher by the last guests/cleaner so when we went to use plates and glasses towards the end of our stay the cupboards were empty. Blackout curtains on the Giles St apartments were not effective.

The internet didn't work for the first two days of our stay and the network didn't appear at all as advised on check in. It took a couple of back and forths with the poor lady on reception to get it fixed and connected to the modem (but not the named network). Parking appears to always be at a premium and, with an increasing number of owner occupiers, is not guaranteed despite being charged $10/day. If a charge is being made for parking then it should be guaranteed.

All in all we were really disappointed after a really positive experience 18 months ago. On check out the gentleman on reception did give us a $50 credit for the parking due to the issues we had had with the ongoing compressor noise from the air conditioning unit that we had had throughout our stay.

Disappointed with the room so moved to another Adina hotel in Canberra which was cheaper and better

We are happy to stay there again.

Unfortunately the dishwasher leaked - we reported it on checking out. Also a number of restaurants we expected to be open on the Kingston shopping centre were closed but that is not a criticism of the apartments but it was oner of our criteria for choosing t0 stay there.

The room , view and facilities was great
Pros:

Clean and spacious

Cons:

The lift and the stairs . It was hard to take the luggage up and and down .
No easy lift access to the rooms / floors .

The indoor pool could have been left opened longer till 8pm especially in summer time
