Construction mess
Front desk woman working Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Was extremely lazy. Would do the absolute minimum and had zero effort in supporting or accommodating guests. Did not follow up or follow through with statements she made. Felt like she was making up answers because she simply forgot what she said she was going to do earlier.
I lovvvvvvve this hotel and the pool is sooo pretty period…. I would stay here again slay queens omggggggggg.
We stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Vancouver for four nights, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful, and maid service never showed up during our stay.
The breakfast was a complete afterthought and felt like it had been thrown together in a storage room rather than offered as a proper hotel breakfast. The condition of the hotel was also disappointing, including room numbers taped onto the doors.
The biggest issue was that the elevator was not working. We were placed on an upper floor, and when we asked to be moved to the ground floor or refunded so we could stay somewhere else, the hotel refused. This created a serious accessibility problem, especially for guests who cannot easily use stairs.
After four nights of poor service, poor conditions, no housekeeping, and no reasonable help from the hotel, we will NEVER return. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
No where on the Hilton website did it say that the hotel was going through a massive remodel. They also did not have our room ready when we arrived forcing me to change in the lobby bathroom to prepare for a wedding
My second night the staff was great and helpful.
The last night the front desk guy was rude. Yelled at me for buying DoorDash with my own money. Told the DoorDash driver that he was going to throw my food out and continued to scream at her.REFUSED to let her out. When we came down it was a screaming match between those two. And there was mold in my window seal.
Remodeled rooms are great.
The elevator was out of order. Spouse walks with a cane. Very difficult. Elevator issue has been ongoing at this location for several years. Also Non Lobby entrance lock (card reader) disabled so open to anyone that wanted in. NOT GOOD. Stairwell near outside entrance smelled of very thick Marijuana odor!
HORRIBLE FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED!!!
Room request not honored, major construction mess everywhere. Placed in the first room on the bottom floor (requested the highest floor), next to the conference room, laundry room, and ice machine... beyond noisy! Not greeted by the dude as a Diamond Member, he was irritated we came in when he was "trying to take a break" and rushed us through the check-in process - we were told we only got 1 water each, then would have to pay for them for each day afterwards. No room service until the last night, the person turned on my wife's toothbrush and killed the battery. Towels were not refreshed until the last night. Disruptive people above us pounding and stomping until past midnight, then again at 4:30 am - asked for front desk help, which we were told they would move us (on our last day), which is what was originally requested for our stay - more hassle to pack everything up again to move to a new room!
Food options were very limited (Super8 Quality), and ultimately we went to restaurants instead - very bad! Unable to use our $30 in daily credits for a breakfast charged at $14.95 + drinks, which was not worth $5. Rooms were in terrible condition, broken lamps, peeling wallpaper, dirty showers, moldy walls, and ceiling (this was a newly renovated room!)
Very Bad experience all the way around! Worst Hilton experience ever - in nearly 20 years!
Location, room was spacious, walk in shower
Major construction and noise, repairs needed in room (TV and shower head)walls were very thin, could hear every move in rooms around me despite being on 3rd floor.
Location was ideal for this trip. Bed was comfortable.
I was unaware of renovations until after the non refundable reservation was made. Motel was extremely dusty. Lamp shades were broken and falling off. Room was just above gross roof top with fans.toilet seat was sideways.
There was no sofa in the room so I couldn’t get relaxed on sofa. Parking was full so I parked behind the building. At the front desk I asked if it was OK but it was not so I had to move the car again. There should be clear instructions but nothing.
Not much positive due to overwhelming negative introduction of the elevator being out.
The messaging was misleading and did not provide adequate details. Stating some furniture was going to be out or some building supplies was one thing but arriving with my physically disabled partner to a non working elevator then told all bottom floors have been booked was not acceptable.. i asked clearly what would be ok for the inconvenience and was offered “ free breakfast “ this does nothing to make up for the pain my partner was dealing with trying to make it up the flights of stairs.
The good: All of the staff were excellent in every department. Check in/out was easy. Room was clean and comfortable. They provided a great convention experience. The bar was quiet and casual with a great bartender. There’s a wing restaurant and a Chevron just a 5min walk through the parking lot.
The bad:there is no food service 10am-6pm. I was there for a convention and the website led me to believe the restaurant was open all day. Be prepared to forage for lunch if your body clock needs to eat before 6pm. The snacks available at front desk were minimal. Also, the shower doors are made so that you have to step into the shower to turn it on. You have to be ready to jump back or be hit with cold water. I consider those both minor issues.
