Bird of Paradise Hotel

This is a basic but reliable, clean and comfortable hotel. It my second stay. The most important thing about this hotel is that it quiet. It is about 100m from the main street so it is super quiet. Hotels on main street have severe noise issues. This is not a hotel you linger in. You sleep, shower and leave. The rooms are VERY small so you can't really hang out in them. But you can go out to beach or restaurants/coffee nearby. Pool is clean. Breakfast is very basic but many places nearby. Bed is comfortable. AC is great. The only issue is that hot water for shower might not be reliable but I waites for a while and it was warm enough. This is due to solar powered water heater. I had another issue with shower head. Next morning they replaced it. You can contact them on WhatsApp with issues and they reply promptly. Security is tight but someone is present 24/7. Give them the key when you leave and get it back when you return. Front desk helped me get a large taxi no issue. Although the room is small there are many chairs and tables just outside the room you can hang out at.

The room was basic with a bed, bathroom and TV but met my needs overall. The staff is remarkable and the pool came in handy after a long day of hiking. The place is close to everything and centrally located.

We had an amazing stay. The pool is incredible and the location is perfect.

Right in the heart of Jaco. Beach & restaurants are right there. Swimming pool. Staff was relaxed & 24/7. Only issue was breakfast. Ham & cheese panini &juice every morning No choices. The best breakfast restaurant in Costa Rica is next door.

It was exactly what we needed

Really liked the location and place was clean. Jose was a big help and super informational at the front desk. We were able to ask questions and get information from him. The hotel itself was great. 3 minute walk to the beach. They have a pool and bar well kept and lawn games to play at night.

Little disappointed. Coffee in the morning at 7:30 or 8 depending on it got there. Breakfast was ham sandwich every day except one and then pancakes

Feel the property was not as represented:
Room was very small, the breakfast was pancakes and fruit, no washcloth in the bath, overall, just not what was expected.

Reception Monica and other staff was helpful.
They understand English which was very helpful.
I recommend this place.

Overall, good stay. I was a bit underwhelmed with the facilities but it was good for a night.

It was nice enough and close to all the action

Had a stopover in my way south. This cute little hotel is very close to the beach but far enough away from the bars I had a restful night. Staff was amazing have no clue what the negative reviews were about. Room was small but pretty with custom furnishings. My back feels great which is unusual for Costa Rica hotels. Has been recently remodel as evident by new floor to ceiling tiled bathroom with clean grout. Pillows were too firm for my neck but that was the ONLY minor complete. AC was silent and super cold.

First of all I am not someone who ever leaves reviews BUT the staff is Amazing! The rooms are super clean and such a gem in Jaco! I look forward to coming back again soon. I couldn’t be more happy with my stay and overall experience. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

The hot springs were lovely, the staff was amazing, the beds were so comfortable. The Wi-Fi was not dependable

They ripped us off. Stole from us. Kicked us out to the streets and refused to call the cops after being robbed and everything taken from us in front of there office. Never once cleaned our room. Charged our card without asking. List goes on. Will be filing on them. Would not stay there if it was free.
