Very friendly staff
Good location within very easy walking distance of the city centre/CBD & friendly, helpful staff.
The rooms are not serviced every day - but that was certainly not an issue for me - though it may be important for some people.
The rooms not being serviced daily may be an issue for some people, though it certainly did not bother me.
There are no laundry facilities at the motel, which might be helpful for those on longer stays.
The motel is in a slightly elevated location, which may pose a problem for some people when walking back up the hill to the motel from the city centre.
The reception hours are advertised as being from 9am till 6pm every day of the week - however I encountered one instance of "random closure" during my stay. One afternoon I went there just after 5-30pm, only to find the reception doors locked & the area closed, without so much as an apology or note of explanation stuck to the door, explaining why they had closed early that day.
As they also advertise an "after hours" contact phone number, I rang that number. I was "on hold" for a short while, before someone eventually answered my call. I soon realised that the number was just an answering service & cannot really do anything at all, as they have no-one located on site. All the answering service can do is pass on messages & provide very basic information about the motel facilities - as there is no information provided about that in the rooms.
All that the answering service could advise me was to wait until the reception re-opened the following morning at 9am. That certainly was not very helpful to me at all, when I had wanted some more supplies for the tea & coffee making facilities in my room, a new roll of toilet paper, & to purchase a can of soft drink, as well as wanting to know if there were laundry facilities at the motel.
Unfortunately, I ended up having to walk back into the city to purchase the supplies I needed, from a supermarket, due to the reception's early closure that day. So people need to be prepared for random closures of the reception area. But I guess in small country towns like Townsville, that sort of thing may not be unusual.
