Lovely room and food excellent

A beautiful gem of a find and highly recommend. The rooms were lovely with all you could need, so clean and comfiest of beds. The pub is fab and the food amazing, book early for food so not disappointed as it’s really popular and busy and if you taste the food you’ll see why. The rooms are mews that are attached to the pub with plenty of parking and noise level is little to none and a good nights sleep you will get. The location is great in the lovely town of Ossett close to amenities and Wakefield ten mins drive. The staff were friendly, welcoming and chatty a lovely feel of home from home. The pub is a lovely traditional English pub quite quirky with a good selection of beers etc. and a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was a little disappointing as no full English but there are a good few things on offer so you won’t go hungry and all served with a cheery smile and friendly word. If I could change one thing that would be it, offer full English breakfast but we’ve no complaints and will definitely return. Thank you we had a lovely stay

Nice room. Would have liked some bottled water and some biscuits in the room.
Clean and well appointed.

Main problem was I had to give up on getting a meal which as a resident was unexpected. It was very busy which is a good sign but I could not get a table booking until 7:45 Pm. When I went back at that point I waited another 15 minutes without being seen by which time it was too late so I had to give up.

Organised a works reunion in the separate function room here and stayed over.
As in previous years the staff were incredibly friendly , the food at the event was great and the room comfortable with everything we needed.
We go back year after year so that says it all.

Excellent room and service throughout, dined there over weekend food was outstanding.

We stayed for one night in a dog friendly room.
The room was lovely with access onto the garden which was fantastic for our dog.
It was a really hot evening so we sat in the hotel garden to have our meal.
I had fish and chips it was really nice.
All the staff were friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere with lots of locals too.
We would stay again.

Ideally located off the M1.
Very good breakfast.
