Loved the whole experience except for the bistro
Pros:

Old world charm, original features, location, modern rooms. Hotel a little tired overall, but it didn’t bother us…nice fireplace to sit around, great for the price.

Cons:

The breakfast room is fine but the bistro is hideous, like a truckies cafeteria, zero ambience or character…wouldn’t eat there.

Excellent location...we just love it.
Pros:

We love the location of this motel. We have stayed here many times before and recommend the Mecure at Canberra. We love the fact that you can spend the day in Canberra, return to your motel, have a few drinks by the fire and also have a meal without leaving again. Excellent place to stay.

Comfortable for the price, a bit tired but like the blast from the past feel and decor in the hotel….but definitely NOT
Pros:

Love the old fashioned vibe, big rooms, high ceilings, fireplace

Cons:

The dining room is like a cafeteria! Most disappointing that there is t a decent restaurant for dinner. The breakfast restaurant is OK, but nowhere decent for dinner, like a truckies diner….zero decor or atmosphere!!

Pros:

Lovely feel about it,polite staff and nice and clean

Cons:

Food was very average, my risotto wasn't cooked properly and cold...not enough vegan/ vegetarian options
I wasn't able to watch a movie,as the night staff wouldn't disable the 24 hour stay, however the day staff said that was a mistake so a bit disappointing

Adequate
Pros:

well appointed bathroom

Cons:

water pressure in the shower was poor. We didn't find the fridge and kettle until the last day ( hidden in the wardrobe) The space between the desk and the bed is so tight you can't use the chair comfortably. AC outside our bedroom window is so noisy! The food in Olims restaurant is mostly deep fried and the serves of chips, ridiculously big. Best meal was the chicken caesar salad. Breakfast wasn't included in our booking and there was no a la carte option so we ate out each day.
