The property was great we had a pet friendly room with a yard for our furry friends.
It could use a revamp but great for the puppies
Convenient location. Restaurant was reasonably priced and the breakfast was great. Lovely to sit by the fire and chat to other guests over a drink. The history of the building was very interesting. 10 minute walk to major shopping centre.
Love the position & love the old world charm. We have stayed there multiple times.
Being winter the hot water wasn't always running hot. A couple of showers weren't quite hot enough, with an early morning one lukewarm warm. Never had a problem before.
The breakfast was good, loved that they had a juicer, facilities were very nice and in a great location to walk everywhere. Staff were lovely and it was nice and cosy with fireplaces around. They also held events in their bar area for occassions which was cool.
A bit noisy in the rooms. You could hear people in the hallway, and neigboring rooms if they were too loud. Although this did not impact on sleep.
Great place to stay if travelling with pets. Comfortable, clean and well located.
Room heat pump a bit aged and noisy.
The hotel is conveniently situated in Canberra - close to AWM and the Canberra centre, Braddon for restaurants.
Breakfast in the garden courtyard was good.
We liked the ‘old world charm’ of the Mercure.
The room was tiny overlooking a main road and was quite noisy well into the night.
There was only one bedside table beside the bed so no lamp
or place for a book, phone or cup on the other. The hot tap over the bathroom basin was shut off so cold water only, not so good in winter!
There was only a single chair in the room so not comfortable for a two night stay.
We had requested twin beds which couldn’t be accommodated, and after a message the day before telling us there would ‘extras’ added we felt a bit let down.
Our room was located right at the back of the property, as we requested. It was a bit of a walk to the reception area, but it was soooo quiet. We loved it.
