Lovely old hotel, well located for central Canberra. With plenty of parking (for a small charge)
Pros:

Location and available parking (at an additional small cost). I wasn't willing to risk a hotel where parking 'might' be available. The history of the hotel and building was also lovely.

Cons:

Very dated interior and confusing layout.

Short break
Pros:

Great location near Braddon and free parking for my 2 night stay as Beer festival took up half the car park. Lovely big room with private little courtyard overlooking the gardens.

Cons:

Phone in the room wasn't working properly and when I rang reception I couldn't hear them properly. Maintenance man checked the phone but couldn't get it working properly. I stayed 2 nights.

Will stay again
Pros:

Value , large room large bed and comfortable. Good clean bathroom.
Food in the restaurant was enjoyable.

Cons:

The staff member behind the bar was very slow and appeared to not really know what he was doing . May have been new but if so required more supervision or training.

Please improve your dining experience, or you will lose customers
Pros:

So disappointed in the dinner I had both nights, the steak was ok, but the mash and potatoes were cold, and the worst pepper sauce I have ever had, please change this, it was so BAD.

Cons:

Serve food hot and improve your dreadful pepper sauce. You need a manager in your restaurant.
