Just so so
Pros:

The room was comfortable on the first night but on the second day a semi-trailer was loading building materials right outside our balcony the noise was terrible for around 2 hours.2 nd night TV was pixelated on all Chanel's phone did not work and all night there was a dull thumping whistle sound seemed to be through the wires.

Cons:

The breakfast room… When my husband went for a walk to checkout where it was he was informed No eggs fried ,poached or boiled available only scrambled. So we went out for breakfast.

There were bed bugs and my partner got bug bites over of us and the fire alarm did not work out the front of our room when it went off and everyone evacuated

Beautiful old hotel set in a lovely location.
Pros:

The location is excellent. Close to the Canberra centre and the War Memorial. The hotel is set in a lovely garden. Parking out the front of the hotel is free. Staff were lovely and friendly.

Cons:

The rooms need an upgrade or refresh. The back of the bathroom door was damaged.
The air con turned on by itself at 500am and because it was noisy it had to be turned off.
The food in the bistro and bar was not very nice. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Brilliant, we have stayed here many times, great location.

Overall 4 star quality but lacking some qualities for 5 stars
Pros:

First rate breakfast - and included in price too.
Spacious room. Pleasant garden courtyards. Employ special needs young people- well done.
Character lounge areas in public areas. Good Bistro. Comfy beds. Quiet - a boon for good sleep.

Cons:

Aircon was barely able to maintain room at cool enough temperature to make sleep possible even though outside temp cooled by late evening. Also the bane of many hotels - aircon not quiet. No swimming pool.
