Swan and Royal Hotel

We have eaten here a few times and the food and service has always been exceptional. Whether just having a drink or something to eat , you will always be served by professional , welcoming members of staff, especially Curtis . If you are looking for a warm place to enjoy a drink or something to eat , The Swan is definitely worth a visit and we highly recommend it . Andrew & Julie

After a recent refurb, the Swan and Royal looks amazing. The decor is very classy and inviting. It's no longer the karaoke bar that it used to be, now much more refined and serves fabulous food.

Great location in town, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was what you need it to be. Highly recommend!

Great meal at The Swan & Royal in Clitheroe tonight, it’s years since I have been in, someone told me it had been taken over by a young entrepreneur. Well I must say amazing fish & chips, clean batter and just the right amount of mushy peas. Loved it… my partner had cheese pie and he really enjoyed it, our friends had fish pie and said it was the best. Will definitely be calling back again and the bill was pleasantly surprising 😍

We were a party of 12 booked for a Saturday lunch. Food was exceptional as were the staff. The recent refurbishment is lovely, making the bar and restaurant very welcoming. Can definitely recommend, and will return.

Great food in a great place. The recent new management and refurb has turned this place around. Service was fast and friendly. Very easy to book a table on the website. Would recommend. Had the roast beef dinner. Excellent!

We called for a midweek lunch and were delighted to find the place was more or less full. The food was really tasty and it had generous sized portions. We last called many years ago and the new front of house décor was beautiful and had a cottage type/ country pub feel The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I can see that once again. The Swan and Royal is now back to its former glory and a very welcome addition to the main centre of Clitheroe for food and drink.

Had a wonderful experience here, great Atmosphere and very friendly staff, we had a lovely waitress called Megan who was so bight and couldn't do enough for us, we definitely recommend

We went during a weekend away with siblings and partners. There were 6 of us in total. We arrived before 12, the young woman on front of house was lovely and welcoming. She seated us and informed us that they would be taking lunch orders from 12, which is no problem. They took our order at 11:30, and then we were informed that the person who took our order should not have done this. When the food arrived, it came out wrong, including a pie that should have been gluten free which was not. We asked to speak to the manager, who was very rude. She was dismissive of us and blamed it all on the staff who waited the table. These staff members were lovely and we cannot fault them. After this, we also heard the chef scream at the young man serving us, which is completely unprofessional, and also uncalled for, as he did not take our order. Would not recommend.

Friendly & welcoming staff; good breakfast after good night's rest; evening meals well cooked; pricing competitive & good value - room not the most modern but clean & comfortable.

Great spot on the high street for a tasty meal and a relaxed pint. The Swan and Royal has a welcoming feel and solid pub classics on the menu.

3 of us went for dinner. My wifes pie was amazing, my steak was average, my friends Hunters Chicken had no chicken to speak of & was poor, so how do we rate them? Its a nice pub with pretty good service but with such a wide range of reviews within our party, the jury remains out.

Room very spacious but very dusty. Cobwebs all over windows and ceiling.

It's a beautiful building. They only have 2 rooms I think. So, was only me. I had my own bathroom. It's bigger then mine at home. The food is divine!!!!
And it's like a 5 min walk from Clitheroe Castle!
