Comfortable room. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Well refurbished hotel. On my previous visit she years ago Axminster this hotel was closed.
Could have had a side plate for my toast at breakfast plus butter. Stairs are steep to reach the 1st floor
It served a purpose. Room was decent but a little tired, as were most of the facilities. Breakfast.
We ate breakfast and dinner on both days, unfortunately each time we had food one of the meals was delayed. Although breakfast was good, the evening meals weren’t all great.
One night stay was comfortable. Arriving before check in but we were given the ok to be able to park the car on site. Everything was in walking distance. Plenty of local quirky shops.

Easy to find, with parking. Friendly staff and good levels of cleanliness. Prices of room and evening meals good for the area with a good sized breakfast included. Interesting decor in the public areas in keeping with the age of the property, showing a lot of thought had gone into this.
We were forewarned about the steep stairs and traffic noise. On arrival the staff member on duty apologised again but the age and layout of the property prohibited any alterations.

There was nothing that I didn't like
Breakfast very good. Location in centre of town and while the hotel car park was full very cheap parking across the road with lots of space. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Pub was nicely busy in the evening without being rowdy.

This is second time we have stayed at the George as my wife had early appointments at Axminster Hospital. Hotel in ideal location for this purpose. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Check in was quick and easy. Stayed in King Room which was a good size. No lift so those with mobility issues make sure you request room on first floor. We did this hotel and hotel allocated room accordingly. Bar prices are reasonable.
Not major issue but there was problem with tv remote on our second visit. Might be worth evening staff having access to a spare remote.
