Good overall stay
Pros:

Room was comfortable and clean.
Nice shower and bathroom area.
Price was good including a good breakfast
Free parking

Cons:

Location as its on a main road which is noisy particularly early morning. It didn't help the hotel bins were emptied at 6am, the glass bin noise was very loud.

OK for a short stay.
Pros:

The room was OK but smelled as if air freshener had been used to mask something.

Cons:

The stairs to the room were very steep. Breakfast started at 8am and I would have preferred an earlier start. On the first day I arrived at 7.50am but couldn't start until 8am. I would have preferred it if my breakfast bacon and egg had not been put on top of my toast that became soggy as a result.

Characterful building. Nice location

Cons:

8am start for breakfast is too late. I had to leave at 7.30 so missed breakfast. Also kitchen was closed on a Wednesday night so arriving at 7.30pm, there was no in hotel dining option (other restaurants close by though)

Pros:

Great characterful hotel and very pleasant staff. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner was fine.

Great centre of town vibe in a characterful old coachhouse with an atmospheric bar.
Pros:

Great one night stop over in a provincial hotel/pub. Staff were all great and provided excellent service. Good food and rooms were a decent size. Parking and central location made it all very easy. Perfect fro a quick stop en route or while seeing Jurassic Coastline.

Cons:

Old school firm sprung mattress could use updating to the modern standard. Central location does mean traffic noise.

Excellent hotel in centre of Axminster
Pros:

A great hotel - clean, comfortable- all the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Very good value as well and parking on site

Cons:

There is some traffic noise because of the hotel position in the centre of town but it didn’t spoil our experience.

Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff especially Connor on reception. He twice assisted me with my suitcase without me asking . The evening meal was extremely nice as was the wine. Waitress service was efficient and friendly . The breakfast was good and plentiful. Car parking on site and location quite central to the town. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room .

Cons:

I am a fairly light sleeper and did hear some traffic noise during my stay.

Glad we chose The George.
Pros:

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, food in the restaurant was very good in both taste and value, really comfortable bed. Although in the middle of town there was little traffic between 10pm and 7am.

Cons:

Having a 7 seater car, the car park of the hotel was a bit awkward with only a handful of spaces. However there is a public car park nearby, so there is no issue with walking far with cases.

Good location, onsite parking, bedroom okay, not in the room for long as meeting family during the day and evening. Slept well.
Good breakfast nice quality product. Nice stay.

Cons:

After driving 3 1/2 hours to the venue and went to book in to be told you’re 10 minutes early, virtually go and wait over there!
