The food for the breakfast was surpisingly excellent for free. The rates were very very good for a large comfortable room. The entire staff was kind and personable
It was a comfortable stay with that included a good breakfast in the morning. Its also in a very convenient location to alot of things in Salem.
We loved the location, staff, amenities, and vibe.
The only complaint we have for the entirety of our four day, three nights stay, were the beds.
The beds were uncomfortable. We had a King room with a pull out love seat. While I understand it's not my bed and what I'm used to. However, most hotels that I've been in, have decent comfortability in their mattresses. The King mattress was very uncomfortable. As for the pull-out sofa, it was very uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and it wasn't sturdy, so it it had very little support. We ended up putting the sofa cushions under the mattress to try to even it out.
Maybe it's time to invest in a pillow top and perhaps a better pullout system.
Nice facility, pleasant rooms, good location, quiet, very clean and a good value.
Furniture and carpet a little dated
We were able to check-in early (got lucky). Check-In was quick and easy very informative and polite as well. Amenities were exceptional our king bed room was clean put together well, the pool was clean water was a good temperature. Breakfast was nice and fresh with many options. Our stay was GREAT. Would/will stay again!
Only complaints are the bed was a little too firm once you lay down fully and the jacuzzi was closed.

The room is spacious, bed is comfortable and being a single women coming for school i feel safe. I wanted to order doordash and felt uneasy they coming to my room. Staff had no problem taking my delivered order and letting me know it arrived. Super friend staff!
No complaints
The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast had a lot of options.
Our room faced the street and It was extremely noisy late into the night from traffic. Also, our room was #404 and there is a stairwell right next to it. The pool is at the bottom of the stairs, so people were stomping up and down the stairs for hours at night. People were talking in the hall and the doors are very loud when they close. Overall, just a very noisy place.

Bedside lighting without low lighting option. Bathroom lighting flickering so didn’t turn on while showering.
Toilet seat height could been higher. Refrigerator needed counter balance when opening door.
It was so easy to check in, settle down, rest, and the breakfast was delicious. It was my first time staying at a hotel and I am exceptionally glad I chose The Hotel Salem to be the first. I slept peacefully and comfortably, I wished I stayed longer.
