The room was clean and comfortable. Good access to the boardwalk.
The hotel could use some touching up. Paint, carpet, bathrooms. It was clean it just seemed to be worn.
Loved the location, and how it smelled clean
We stayed 2 nights in plaza suite, we had to take showers in our kids restroom due to our shower leaking cold water from the light. Felt unsafe was scared the ceiling might fall on us. The water takes awhile to heat up give it about 10 minutes or so. Wall paper is peeling needs some tlc. We didn't want to be a bother so we stayed in the room we were at, plus it would have been a inconvenience moving all our luggage to another room with the kids. Ac at night dose not work well in suite. Gets hot. We were there for my daughter's birthday, wanted to make the most of it. Wished it was better for what we paid.

The property being located in the same area was ideal for walking around without the need to rent a vehicle.
The decor was beachy/nautical without being too much
No complaints about it
Very comfortable
Staff was good and the rooms were very clean great location
Beds could be more comfortable.
No breakfast.
Bed and pillow not comfortable.
The view of the bay from the room was very good. We were able to see and listen to the music on Thursday night without leaving our room. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel lived up to its name. It is literally on the boardwalk. The location was about 30 minutes to the Houston Space Center.
The toilet was very low for adults. The only toiletries were 2 small bars of soap and a small tube of shampoo and small tube of hair conditioner. There was no body lotion. I expected the soap and hair products to be liquid and on the wall like other hotels nowadays. I expected the body lotion to be on the wall, too. Otherwise, the towels and washcloths were very nice, soft, and thick.
Everything it’s a great hotel, still looking and feeling great after all these years. The balconies over the plaza are excellent for viewing various musical performances from Thursday to Sunday. Great seafood nearby in San Leon and over near NASA. Can’t recommend the seafood on the boardwalk though.
Staff were very complacent. No friendly greetings like in the past. On the first morning, we went to the pool at 8 o’clock. It was locked. There were no clean towels on the towel shelf. Once we got the desk manager up, he unlocked the pool door, but there was junk and trash everywhere from the night before. A woman came out and swept. But left all the used towels laying around. Also, candy and food wrappers were on the tables, old cans and things like that were still there from the day before. Another couple came while we were there, took a look around, saw all the junk and still no towels or cleanup. At 9AM, a guy came and told us to get out of the pool, and started tossing in pool chemicals. No “Hi folks, I need to clean the pool”. Just “Y’all need to get out of the pool”. Not what we’ve come to expect from this property and the money we pay for the experience. Hire competent managers and staff. We still had a great time, and we will come back, but staff improvements are needed.
