The Walper Hotel, part of JdV by Hyatt

When checking into The Walper Hotel, the staff were welcoming and insightful when I needed help with the administrative portions of checking in like payment of the room and the length of my stay properly explaining that they would need to check ID to make sure my ID did match the person that was on the reservation. After checking in, the status of the room was quite clean. The bed, washroom and nightstands were well kept and in good order.

The only complaint I would have, was the lack of soundproofing of the rooms as I was able to sometimes hear the hallways and the noise from outside rather well. Having understood the context that The Walper Hotel has been in service since 1893, I understood that soundproofing rooms could be challenging so if I needed to play music, I just kept a pair of headphones on at all times.

Checking out was smooth, Jelena made sure that the checkout process went well and even asked me how my stay at the hotel was for a wedding. Asking about the cleanliness of the room to the quality of service to which I told it that everything went smoothly and the quality of service was excellent.

Hotel super duper cool, room was awesome (bath was a little small).
Parking is a bit weird, they will charge you if you dare to the car

Excellent place to stay. Central location, Clean and Staff very helpful. Did not participate in any dining features as there were so mamy close by.

Rooms were clean

Location was excellent (right downtown) and rooms and atmosphere was great. The room was clean, cozy and modern feeling. There were a few uncleaned lipstick marks in the bathroom though…! If you want less noise take a room that does not look out onto the main street. The restaurant was excellent and the chef was great and even adapted his meal to my dietary needs and came to see if I had enjoyed it! The service was excellent in the restaurant downstairs.

The front desk workers were not very proactive about telling us there was an issue with the hot water. We spent two days taking cold showers and nothing was offered to us to compensate until we asked. I was asked not to share the discount I got for the inconvenience with my friends as they did not want to give an additional discount to others who had the same issue. That felt very unprofessional and lacking in honesty. Disappointing!

The staff at the front desk was so helpful and went the extra mile and hotel is clean and great location!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and cozy room, and I loved the cute little touches that made me feel welcome in a strange city.

Location is close to alot of places to eat.Room was nice, bed was comfortable. The shower had hot water the whole time and was really relaxing.

Close to our concert event and lots of restaurant options

It is right in the middle of downtown Kitchener. Perfect location but parking is very difficult. We did purchase parking which you really have no other choice but it was convenient.
