Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya

One of the best Hotels we have stayed in! Every thing was just great! The location is great and you really don’t have to leave the hotel!
You feel at home and the staff and the manager all make you feel at home!
Great food and great place to relax!

Great place

We are a senior couple with 40 years of international travel to luxury hotels. First, the service that we received at Maroma, from all personnel including the bellmen, wait staff, housekeeping/turn-down service, beach/pool staff, spa personnel, and our hostesses, was exceptional. Everyone was extremely kind and a pleasure to engage. Second, the room was great, very well-furnished including plenty of closet and dresser space, very comfortable bed, and excellent lighting and temperature controls. The room included daily coffee service, daily water bottled, closet including robes, caftans, slippers, sandals and umbrellas. The turn-down service was exceptional and included bedside water, small pastry, slippers at bedside and any or our loose clothes and bathing suits were put on hangers. Third, the food was also excellent at Freddy's Bar and Casa Mayor with many authentic Mexican dishes. Lastly, the site is beautiful. The hotel building are interlaced with the jungle and beach. Maroma beach is beautiful and well-maintained. The chaises were wide and extremely comfortable. And the Maroma is small and the beach did not feel at all crowded. The pathways through the jungle between buildings are beautiful and lit-up by candles at night.

As a non-foodie, my only very small criticism is that the menu options are limited, but again, everything we ate was fresh and delicious.

From reception to check out the most courteous, professional, customer oriented service I have ever experienced. Worth every penny. Highly recommended

Was it the beautiful welcome we received upon arrival?
Was it the exquisitely appointed rooms that felt like an apartment rather than a hotel room?
Was it the attention to little details in the room. The slippers, the caftans, the interesting books, the tiled sinks, the luxury products, the Mexican inspiration...?
Was it the delicious and timely coffee service?
Was it the fitness center equipped with a massage therapist, good equipment, snacks and cold towels?
Was it the breakfast service where homemade tortillas are abundant, the fruit is plentiful, the pastry basket is different each day and the pour over coffee is a cultural experience?
Was it the wooden carved lounge chairs with comfortable cushions, chairs for all the guests, and beach attendants who are ready to take care of your every need?
Was it the surprise of daily cocktails, fresh fruit, cooling mist or sorbet?
Was it the beautiful well-maintained beach and grounds?
Was it the spa with it's welcoming staff, well trained therapists, hot pool, and well stocked clean locker room?
Was it the fantastic, interesting, beautiful and delicious dinners at both restaurants?
Was it the fact that on one day two employees said when we had a request, "Anything is possible!"?
Was it the sommelier who guided us through the wines of Mexico?
Was it the bartender making interesting and unique cocktails?

Our list could go on and on...

What we know is that everyone wanted to make sure our week at Maroma was special. Each staff member was there to provide a service, and it is obvious they are very proud of their work and their country.

Everything about this resort is amazing for us.

1) the simplicity of arrival from the Cancun airport. 40 minutes away and even more simple
If you book the transportation through Belmond. Teo is amazing!!

2) check in and meeting our host, Omar, included margaritas, a Mayan cleansing tradition, in room check in with a tour of the beautiful property

3) simple room amenities like the bottle of tequila, fresh limes, unlimited water, topo chico, nightly treats, flawless twice daily housekeeping, and other wonderful surprises made it more special

4) the experiences we chose to book made the trip even more memorable. If you are into these food and wine, I highly recommend. We did the Yaxche dinner on our balcony one night and the Colores & Sabores of Mexico on top at the Mirador another evening. We had the service of “G” who treated us like family. Both meals were spectacular .
We also did the Mexican Wine Journey with Leslie and Luiz. It was amazing to learn of the Mexican Wine heritage and the wines were all fabulous!

5) the resort itself is beautiful and quite serene. We loved the relaxed nature and beauty. The complimentary breakfast was delightful each morning. We also loved ceviche daily at the beach or from Freddy’s bar. Woodend is truly magical!! All of the food was top notch. We never left the property and never wanted to.

6). Lastly, the people made it feel like family! From our host, Omar, or Enrique or the lovely Leslie and Luiz, every person really went out of their way to make us feel special and enhance our trip! We also loved meeting the manger, Bela! He took a lot of time to talk to us and make sure we were enjoying our stay.

7) will you have some seaweed, maybe a day or 2 but the property does all they can to make it go away. We had it for 2 of 5 days and it didn’t hamper our enjoyment at all! Mother Nature at her finest.

8) some have commented about prices. Read the menus and know where you are going. The value for what you spend is worth every penny in my opinion!

Top notch service, deliverables, people and relaxation!

My first stay at a Belmond Hotel and I have to say that it beats Aman, Four seasons, and Mandarin combined. It is a very special experience where you feel like staying at home. Attention received from everyone from the hotel manager to all staff. Food was amazing. 10/10.

There are no words to express what a magical, idyllic, paradise this is. It was beyond anything we could have ever dreamed of. Thank you Olga, Karina, Renata, and the entire team for the most incredible trip. You make Maroma what it is, a sanctuary of pure bliss where we felt like family. We can not wait to return in January (and hopefully before). Thank you for everything

Really beautiful place with great staff, but all of the food is overdone and extremely expensive. A plain cheeseburger and fries is literally $45 USD. Don't even think about bringing kids here; they'd have nothing to do (other than sitting at the beach or pool) and nothing to eat. The resort is in the middle of nowhere, so if you're going to eat, you've got to eat there. We shared a shuttle into town for dinner one night and it was $80/person.

The hotel was excellent the ambiance, decor and service exemplary. As an indication of the attention to detail, beside the paths that lead through the gardens to the rooms staff placed small glass jars containing candles these were put out a dusk but in the morning were gone. The service at the pool and beach was great bringing complimentary drinks and ice creams several times during the day. Our only issue was not being familiar with mexican food we found the menus in the restaurants a little difficult knowing what to order. The hotel arranged a trip to Ichien Icza and a snorkelling tip to the reef both of which were excellent.

This hotel is one of the most favorite places I have been anywhere in the world. The service and attention to detail is unmatched. When my husband and I first checked in I thought the hotel was a little smaller and a little more subtle than I had imagined. Very lush and low key. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and then I started to understand why everyone loves this hotel.
We loved Casa Mayor for dinner (we ate there twice) and had breakfast every morning while trying something new each day. The gym facilities are well above average and we were the only two there whenever we went. The spa was beyond. Easily the most beautiful spa I have ever visited. The butler service took care of everything and small details such as leaving a beautiful bookmark near my open book, were so appreciated. Our room was quiet and it felt almost like we were on a private island at times. The beach had some seagrass at times, but they were cleaning it and honestly there were so many beautiful things to see that it didn't bother me one bit.
I am leaving this review because I was on the fence when booking. Now it will go into our rotation for getaways. I can't imagine many places that can top it.

I had a wonderful stay at the Fairmont. Beautiful hotel, beautiful experience. The grounds are well maintained, and the hotel staff was very helpful and attentive.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Belmond Maroma with friends, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The service was absolutely impeccable—every staff member was attentive, warm, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable, which made relaxing easy and enjoyable throughout the trip.

The property itself is stunning and feels luxurious without being over the top. Everything was thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere was perfect for a celebratory getaway.

My only minor complaint would be the food options. While everything was well-prepared and high quality, the menu didn’t always feel casual or approachable. At times, I would have appreciated more relaxed, simple dining choices to balance out the fine-dining offerings.

That said, Belmond Maroma is an exceptional resort, and it made my birthday celebration truly memorable. I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious escape with top-tier service.

Didn’t know what to expect but the service here was the best I’ve ever had. Every detail from the moment we carried to the moment we left was perfect. This was one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed. They even had someone light real candles every single night and line the walkways with them. Food was great. Loved all the complementary snacks on the beach and even had a few complementary 5 minute massages on the beach. Guirlain spa was amazing as well. Highly reccomend! I’ll be going to more Belmond hotels after this.

Wonderful hotel in a great locations, we had a an Ocean View Suite which was great. The staff were excellent especially the personal hosts who were super responsive on WhatsApp. The beach was super and the on beach service excellent, with lots of freebies.

Wonderful and relaxing stay. Impeccable attention to detail and first rate staff. Will investigate other Belmond properties in Mexico.

The hospitality at this resort was over the top. I did not have to made any decisions- it was all there right at your fingertips- amenities, food and assistance.
