Pleasant but windy
Pros:

The views and the common space- restaurant, padel on the grass, the games available

Cons:

No shampoo in the bathrooms, value for money- the price for the room seemed quite high, the fact that the rooms were not available when we checked in at 230pm and we had to wait for one for two hours and then beg for a late check out at 1pm the next day; also there is a path down to the beach but it would be a huge win to offer drinks and snacks for sale/ service at the entrance to the beach.

Pros:

The report is perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to allow you to come and go as you please. The facilities were great and the staff are absolutely incredible. We did the paragliding too and it was an incredible experience which was reasonably priced!

All the food was outstanding. Special kudos to the chef. The receptionist Bruno was tops.
The location and the view were excellent.
The two grounds staff attending the camping areas, cleaning the pathways and and bushes are super friendly, they work extremely hard and they also deserve special recognition for the way they interact and willingness to help.

Cons:

The only unpleasant experience was the unfortunate noise pollution due to ATV traffic. These are not guests from the facility. They are externals coming to drink at the bars or restaurant. We suggest signage or ban ATV's from the property and make them walk down if they want to enjoy the view.

I made my booking with my genius discount which was R 11, 651.00 we booked for an entire week.
After I made my booking I got an invoice for R 12, 519.33 so I immediately tried to cancel my booking, which I wasn't allowed to do as there you can't cancel booking within 60days of your stay or you lose your money. I got told they charge according to the exchange rate on the day, guess what no other place does this in Mozambique and I've traveled extensively, I even went and spoke to other lodges and places. I dispute this with booking.com who wasn't very helpful, I spoke to the lodge and got the following message. SHOCKING to say the least, BUT THATS NOT ALL, I didn't want to spend any of my time at the lodge due to the sour taste it left in my mouth they took money that was meant to go towards eating out. We arrive and end up staying in food forest, guess what, you walk straight past the sewage and if the wind blows in the right direction it blows straight into the tent, imagine this for an entire week. The tent had holes in it, the linen had holes in it, the towels had holes in it, you sleep on two single beds pushed together. The staff then wanted to move us to the sea view tent on the last night just to get a message three days prior at 19:20 that the weather is bad and they will move us that evening and then we have to move back again the next day. What an inconvenience.

Pros:

The breakfast was great with a beautiful view, friendly staff and private accommodation (we stayed in the tents). I would recommend booking with breakfast included

Cons:

There was no swimming pool and walking to the beach was down a very steep cliff, so the walk back was quite exhausting

We enjoyed our time at Sky Island
Pros:

The resort was easy to find and the staff were great and assisted and friendly all the time.
We requested to move from booked accommodation to a better room which was organised for a small increase in cost.
Meals were great.

Cons:

The first tented accommodation smelt of mold and was very damp.
Bedding was not the best.

An interesting resort with potential.
Pros:

It was very novel to be in a tented camp set in beautiful forrest with plenitiful birdlife, staff were friendly and accomodating.

Cons:

The campsite we stayed in was located very close to the access road which often had speeding quad bikes impacting on the peace of the surrounds as well as the walk to the centre. On this same walk to to the centre we also observed the skinning of an animal (donkey?) - not really an appropriate sighting for a guest. The camp itself while clean and comfortable was in need of maintenance: the window zip of our tent didn't work, the grass mat's were ripped in places as were the ground sheets outside the tent(s) and the shower was severly blocked.
