Pros:

We stayed here from the 3rd to the 17th, and unfortunately the experience was far from what we expected. When we arrived, we were charged an extra $20 per day on top of the $300 bond, something that was not clearly stated before booking. The apartment itself was old, with poor-quality cookware and a general level of maintenance that didn’t match the listing.

After reading several reviews mentioning issues with the bond, we decided to do the check-out with the owner present to avoid misunderstandings. He only allowed one person to go upstairs, which already felt unusual. During the inspection, he checked everything with extreme detail, as if the apartment were brand new, which it clearly wasn’t.

He then claimed to have found a small stain on the sofa that was not ours and said it would cost $80 to clean, and if it didn’t come out, another $80, and so on. He also insisted the sofa was “new from six months ago,” even though its condition didn’t match that at all. After a long discussion, he said he would call us once the stain was cleaned.

Later, he told us the stain had come out and that he would return the bond only if we left a good review, which we found completely inappropriate.

I’m sharing this so other travellers are aware. The apartment does not match what is advertised, and the way the bond was handled was unprofessional and very concerning.

Do not book this!!
Pros:

Not much to be honest. The towels and bedding were clean.

Cons:

Nothing like the advertised pics on Booking.com. old, tired, noisy, did not feel safe. High speed internet was rubbish. Def would NOT recommend.

Worst standard of living in the city
Cons:

Our room was infested with cockroaches and our room was so dirty. The police constantly came over, the owner was quite frankly inappropriate as soon as I was checking in in many of the things he said and to top it off they didn’t return my security deposit because the room was dirty and I had broken something which I did not as I cleaned the room and checked for all of those things before I left

Pros:

Customer service was excellent, room clean, bed and pillows comfortable.

Cons:

NO SECURITY! Broken fire doors propped open, pool unsecured, fire door on top floor unable to close or open. Fire trap and personal security at risk.

Mixed review
Pros:

The location in the city is convenient. Close to public transport. The pool was nice. The room was clean with everything provided.

Cons:

The staff that checked me in was very rude. Told me I was too stupid to read the fine print, so I had to be charged a further $900 security fees. The owner Edward, however, was very friendly, and made sure my stay was comfortable. He listened to my concerns and was professional at all times.
