The hotel is beautiful with stunning views. Many pool options and not difficult to find a sunbed. My room was very clean, stylish and comfortable, supplying all the usual things. The shower was great.
Hotel is conveniently located to get to Andratx and Palma
The breakfast buffet was chaotic and not what you’d expect for a 5 star hotel. The staff were all over the place but not really achieving anything helpful for the many guests.
Also, one afternoon there was only one member of staff taking drinks orders for the largest pool area so it took a long time for her to take our order and then for it to arrive. Again, for this price point and being a 5 star hotel, this should not happen
Gute Lage Schöne Zimmer.
Preis etwas zu hoch. Terrasse beim 1. betreten noch nicht gereinigt. Es lagen noch Chips und Salsa auf dem Baoden.
Lage, sauberkeit, freundlichkeit,
Gym zu spät auf, kunstrasen
I am aware of the vast amount of 5 star reviews this hotel gets which is one of the reasons that I booked this 5 day trip for myself and my daughter. Sadly 5 star was just not our experience. May be we were unlucky. The main reason for the poor review is a rude member of staff at our first breakfast who was unwilling to seat us outside despite the fact there were several free tables. He was rude , unhelpful and quite threatening in his approach. After we relented and sat down inside ,as soon as he went , we went outside and happily found a free table of which there were many. There was no obvious manager available at breakfast so I went to reception to complain. I had no response to my complaint until 2 days after I returned home. The response was full of apologies but was inadequate and should have been dealt with at the time. Sadly the rude staff member was not the only one encountered . A request for a clean tool at the pool was met with the response go and get one yourself from your room which was not good enough. I'd used my towel to clean down the wet sunbed at the pool as there are no staff and no swimming allowed before 10.00 am ( This is a silly restriction and should be changed ). On another occasion our pool food order hadn't arrived after an hour . I was met with shrugging of shoulders saying the order hd been lost , again no willingness from staff to deal with a problem. Apart from breakfast and the meal we had at the Japanese restaurant on the first night I would say the overall standard of food was poor. Lunch at La Veranda was bland and tasteless, the pool burritos were also tasteless . My recommendation is go into town or get a taxi to Port Andratax for lovely bars restaurants and atmosphere. Our room was large clean and pleasant but beware if you are in block 1 as your view will be the car park ! Finally there is absolutely no atmosphere at this hotel the pools ( most of which are freezing) have no vibe , it is very like being in a library, My complaint response offered a discount on a return visit but sadly this is somewhere that I will not be returning to and would not recommend.
We travelled in October half term and it was our first visit to a Zaffiro hotel and Mallorca. Mallorca was beautiful and we would definitely return. We got a car and enjoyed having a few days out and everywhere we ate was very good.
The hotel was also lovely. It was spotlessly clean, the staff were fantastic, the food and drinks were very good and the scenery and hotel itself were really great; it felt five star and we were very pleasantly surprised as we had not known what to expect. I had thought that there were so many beds that it couldn't possibly feel overcrowded so I was quite surprised to read reviews saying that in peak time it was too busy and there were no beds available. But on consideration I could see how when the hotel was at capacity it would feel crowded.
In October it was very quiet (we joked about The Shining) and there were times where you felt like you were rattling around in an empty hotel. But I could see that at peak times the pools and buffet would become unbearably busy, as would the towns and villages in the area.
Although I thought the service, location, etc, were five star, I have rated it as a four star as we felt overall that there was something lacking a little from the hotel; we are used to bigger hotels with a beach bar/coffee bar, etc and the only proper bar didn't open until 5 and then played some very odd music, so it felt a lot of the time like there wasn't much to do in the hotel. It would have been nice to have somewhere else to go, especially on the days when the weather wasn't nice enough to sit outside.
We returned here as we do every year. The hotel is quiet, well positioned, with great restaurants. The staff are fantastic from arrival to departure.
Most of the staff have been there for the 5 years we have been going, they remember you which is nice. It’s a short walk to the beach where you can find nice tapas bars and a fabulous fish restaurant on its own island in the bay, with a small bridge to access it.
The golf course is a stones throw with a great restaurant. Highly recommend
This was our second visit to Zafiro Andtrax. The first time we stayed was May Half Term - it was busy but we could usually get sunbeds. This time round in August it was much busier and at times there was nowhere to sit by the pool and going for breakfast was not a relaxing experience.
We witnessed several arguments over the sunbed situation and when we complained to the management they’re said they would introduce signs and a policy to stop people reserving the beds but by the time we left there was no evidence of this. Meanwhile the newer ‘club’ area has plenty of empty sunbeds.
The situation is exacerbated because they don’t have a towel station or bin to put dirty towels in so when people leave their beds they leave their towels and it’s hard to tell whether they are coming back. The adults pool is more serene but it doesn’t have views and most beds there are doubles and hanging beds. The hotel should reconfigure this area to create more spaces for single sunbeds and create more privacy as it’s near the lift so there’s families with kids walking/running past.
The staff were nice but customer service is patchy and getting drinks from one of the vans near the pool can be tricky.
When there are issues the staff don’t know how to resolve them quickly.
The rooms are a decent size and beds comfy. Our air conditioning only worked on one side of the bed and was freezing cold even though we turned it down. The balcony was tiny and overlooked the dining hall so we kept our curtains closed at all times. There was not enough space on the balcony to dry clothes.
We ate out every night - we would have felt a bit trapped to have evening meals there. The quality of breakfast is really good but there were too many people and it takes a long time to get a drink.
This is a nice hotel but when it’s at full capacity they struggle to cope and they don’t have enough space or staff. It’s not a five star experience.
We stayed here as a family and had an amazing experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and welcoming — taking care of our luggage and making a great first impression. Everyone we met was happy to help with anything, which really made a difference.
The hotel facilities are fantastic — beautiful pools, great bars, and plenty of space to relax. The restaurants were excellent too; the buffet had lots of variety, and the à la carte options were a nice way to mix things up each evening.
Our son has a food allergy, and the hotel handled it brilliantly. They even have an app that lets you filter meals by allergens so you can see exactly what’s safe — such a great idea and really reassuring.
We had a room with a plunge pool, which was a lovely touch. It was a bit cold (probably due to the time of year) but perfect for a refreshing dip!
Overall, a brilliant stay with friendly staff, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. We’d definitely return!
This was our 5th visit to Zafiro Palace Andrathx, and the hotel is just fabulous!
For a large hotel, that was full at the time of our visit, the hotel never feels crowded. With many pools and always some where to sit. The food is first class, and the staff so attentive, from the porters, to the concierge, restaurant staff and cleaners. We love the hotel and would highly recommend and will be back again!
Hotel is lovely and kept very clean however if you are a couple and want a relaxing holiday then this is not the hotel for you.
Positives:
Staff all very nice.
Room spacious.
Balcony with jacuzzi bath lovely.
Nice views as long as you don’t mind the golfers so close to you.
Good service at roof top pool.
Negatives:
Lots of young children, perfect hotel for families but not for couples.
Food hit and miss.
Not kids/families fault but lots of babies in restaurants don’t make for a quiet meal 😊
Hectic at breakfast.
Room opposite a golf course green, they mow the lawn and move flags every morning as soon as day light appears which is really loud and wakes you up.
Overall we had a nice time at this hotel as thankfully they had a nice adult pool which gave you a bit of peace during the day as the other roof top pool was packed with kids so quite loud.
I forgot to review this trip after we got back so I hope I can remember everything!
We loved this place. The hotel is pretty big, it took us a while to get our bearings and work out the quickest ways to get to pools/restaurants but you get there.
The pools are amazing - we took it in turns between the family pool and roof top one. Views from the roof top one are beautiful. Lots of sun loungers - no scramble for beds at all!
Food is so lovely - we were AI and lunch in the main restaurant was delicious. We tried all the a la carte restaurants - loved them all but the Asian was probably our favourite - so much choice.
The views from these restaurants are also beautiful.
Short walk downhill to the Camp de Mar cove and beach - you can watch all the superyachts come in. Beiber, Dua Lipa etc were all there when we were. They all go to the restaurant in the cove - we didn't try to get in as apparently you can't!!!
Went on a boat trip to Sa Dragonera island - well worth it.
And also a taxi to Port D'Andratz - great little port with bars and restaurants.
Our room was lovely - with a hot tub that we didn't use - cleaned well and nice and quiet.
The only thing we found was that it was quiet in the evenings - the entertainment was not great I'm afraid, and once you've eaten i think most people seem to go to their rooms. It might be a early season thing but we would have liked a bit more to do post meal. Its a minor thing though.
Loved the hotel, food, drinks and location!
Overall, we had a pleasant experience at the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially at the check-in desk and in the restaurants. Everything was easy to find, and the facilities were well-maintained. The pool area was clean, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety.
The hotel is quite child-friendly, particularly in terms of accessibility — it was easy to move around everywhere with a stroller. The location is also stunning, with breathtaking views that really added to the experience.
We were especially grateful for the possibility of an early check-in, which made a big difference when traveling with both a toddler and a baby.
Another great aspect is how well the hotel is designed to accommodate different types of guests. The layout includes separate areas, so couples without children can enjoy a more peaceful stay. There are even adults-only pools, which is a nice touch.
We had a generally pleasant stay, but there were a few aspects that didn’t quite meet our expectations, especially when traveling with a toddler. While the resort is very well-suited for couples with babies (we noticed many families with infants), it’s a bit less accommodating for older, more active children. The kids’ pool is quite small and better suited for very young children, and although there is a playground, some parts of it — like the slide — weren't functioning properly during our stay.
The beach access was a bit different than described. It’s mentioned as being 100 meters away, but given the size of the property, it's about a 5–7 minute walk from the main entrance. The return walk includes a slight uphill stretch, which can be challenging in hot weather, especially with a stroller.
The staff were generally kind and helpful, though we did find some aspects of the housekeeping routine a bit disruptive. There seemed to be a lot of in-and-out during the day (cleaning, refilling the fridge, making the bed), which made it difficult when our baby needed to nap. Even when we tried to coordinate specific times for cleaning, it didn’t always work out — sometimes no one came, or they would arrive at a different time. As a result, our room was only fully cleaned once during our five-night stay.
Additionally, it seemed that the "Do Not Disturb" sign wasn’t always respected. On one occasion, we returned from dinner to find that the room had been entered and the bed made, despite the sign being on the door.
It felt like the housekeeping staff might be under pressure to meet certain cleaning targets, which we understand, but it did create a bit of tension — almost as if we were in their way during our stay.
Overall, we appreciated many aspects of the hotel, but these were just a few things that stood out and might be worth considering, especially for families with toddlers.
Our second visit to this fabulous hotel. Service is second to none. Special mention to Gonzalo in the Blue Lounge bar who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and when the drink we wanted wasn’t available he produced his own version.
Zafiro Andratx is a large hotel located in a very nice Camp de Mar village. Hotel has its own parking, which was providing enough parking space even if you were arriving late in the evening. Reception is very nice, spacious, with the friendliest personal of the whole hotel. People there are real professionals with the right customer-orientated approach.
The hotel itself is a set of numerous (I think 9) separate buildings, connected with numerous stairs, ramps, elevators, and sidewalks. You will become well-orientated after first day, but I wouldn't really recommend this hotel to people with reduced mobility, or elderly as some of the distances you have to make are considerable, and mainly in hot summer months, it is simply not a pleasant thing to do for everyone. In addition, I faced several rainy moments during my stay, and most of surfaces became really slippery, so be aware of that!
Room cleaning is overall on a good level, although I cannot accept that the cleaning team left my terrace window fully opened on one day. On the other hand cleaning of the corridors, sidewalks etc. is not as perfect as I was seeing rubbish on the ground in the evening in the same spots where I saw it in the morning.
Breakfasts in the "Market" restaurant were great from the food quality, and the variability of its selection. Nevertheless, the level of some of the waitress is not perfect , and despite the place being very empty at the time I was being there, I faced situations when dishes were not taken out for considerable time. Also, none of the cooks were able to greet you when you were passing by. This is absolutely wrong in a 5-star facility. Also, the maintenance of some of room (and not just room) facilities could have been better. My room had a loose door handle, shower was dripping for an hour after being used etc.
To sum up, Zafiro Palace Andratx is a very nice hotel, rooms with a sea view have fabulous views (I stayed in a penthouse, in block no. 6), with enough space, great terrace, spacious bathroom, and comfy bed. The hotel also offers lots of swimming pools, equipped gym, good breakfast selection, and Camp de Mar location is also one of the best on the south-west coast of Mallorca. The beach is perfect, close (but you will go to a decent hill), and close distance to airport (ca. 30 minutes). What I didn't like is some of the staff which missed the professionalism of the place where they work. I should also point out that the hotel is a perfect place for golfers as it is surrounded by Andratx Golf Course, and many others are in a close distance.
Final comment would go as an advise for potential future visitors. As I already said, be advised that there are really lots of stair (yes, you can use elevators, but at busy time, it is simply annoying to wait). Also, at the time when I was there, hotel was full of families with small children, so if you want a calm, quiet holiday, rather look elsewhere.
