location
mold in shower
train noise
Nice staff and lobby. The bed was comfortable.
It’s looking very worn in the bathroom. I could see cement showing around the shower because the plastic has worn off. The shower flour looks like it needs to be replaced.
New pillows r needed.
The front desk staff member Mary that checked us in provided a wonderful check-in experience. Our room was clean, and ready upon check-in. We will come back again for our next staycation.
Total bait and switch. Hotel lobby looks great, but the rooms are old and poorly maintained. The place is showing its age. The layout is a hassle to navigate. Front desk clerk would not tell me if it was okay to park overnight on street and just kept repeating that I should pay the hotel's high fee to park overnight. I ended up parking on street overnight and had no problem. There are better places to stay in Davis for less money and who have way more helpful staff.
Last week, my son and I stayed here for the night. We had a pleasant experience and would stay there again. Here are our observations:
POSITIVES
Free breakfast. Who could complain? It’s not as extensive as Embassy Suites’ breakfast but was enough to be satisfying.
Location. Located at the end of downtown. Still walking distance to UC Davis. Easy to get to from the I80.
Staff. They were great and friendly.
Rooms. They were clean and spacious enough. The beds were very comfortable. The A/C was easy to use/adjust. Loved the blackout shade.
Parking. On-site parking was close and convenient.
Gym. Gym was better than expected….. defiantly better than what Embassy Suites tend to offer.
Courtyard. Loved it. I great place to lounge around in the evening outdoors.
Indoor lounge. Loved it was well. Large and spacious and nicely decorated with a bar next to it.
NEGATIVES
Room décor. It was quite blasé and minimalistic, but not the end of the world.
Location. Located next to the train tracks. I did appreciate the hotel offering disposable earplugs for those who want it. When the train went by, the noise wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
OVERALL.
For what we paid for the night, it was definitely worth it. Would definitely stay again.
It was located downtown and lots of restaurants and shops within short walking distance
Renovation and paid parking without prior notice from property
The services was was expected but the dinner place on site would not accept my service animal. Wanted him in a crate or containment, informed her the animal should be able to be there. Then asked for certificate asked about takeout said they don’t have takeout
We left and on checkout informed the agent of this experience otherwise we had an enjoyable experience
Pee stains on the bed. Terrible coffee for breakfast with no alternative milks. Elevator was extremely loud and dingy. Dirty bathroom walls on main lobby. I came for my sister’s graduation and they prices gauged. $800 per night for a crappy hotel.
Comfortable bed and pillow. Very clean room and facilities overall.
Only decaf Kuerig pods in my room so had to go ask for regular at the desk. Staff in food area didn’t greet or reply to my greeting as I was getting my coffee. The coffee in the food area was lukewarm and not very good. The price is higher than other comparable places in downtown Davis that include a similar breakfast but no $15 per person charge for it, just comes with the stay.
Staff so nice
Stayed while helping my child move to Davis. Wonderful experience. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. We paid for parking which was very helpful. We parked in the underground garage which is great for small to medium sized vehicles. The location is perfect and highly walkable. In my reservation request I asked for a room away from the train and the train sound was not a problem at all. They provide complimentary ear plugs but we never needed them.
Primarily the location
Four days and no room service
The bed was comfortable
Our TV wasn't working when we checked-in. The elevator was broken, so we couldn't bring our luggage up from the parking garage. Things were fairly shabby. I've just learned that Hilton supports ICE, so we will not be staying in any Hilton Hotels again.
