Casa Vieja Guest House

Luis didn’t just welcome us into his hostal, he welcomed us into his family. He was exceptionally helpful with any small question we had about anything in El Salvador. We rented his car for a week as well and it was such a smooth process, highly recommend asking him about it if you want to drive around El Salvador for a while.

Make sure to ask Luis any questions / recommendations about his country! We had a phenomenal time staying here, best place in Santa Ana.

This guesthouse feels like home! It’s so cozy, great outdoor seating space, super comfy bed, hot water (!!!) and an amazing host. Luis is so passionate about his city and is so welcoming, it was wonderful to stay at his guesthouse and chat with him. And the location can’t be beat, it’s 4 blocks from the amazing park with the cathedral, theater and judicial building. Beautiful!

It is perfect. Can not ask for more than this when traveling. Beautiful room. Knowledgeable owner. Central. Etc. The hot water shower is a nice luxury you seldom get in Central America.

Two drivig factors. First, the host Luis and his top treatment of guests. Secondly, location with the hostal a short walk to the square where most of the city's attractoons are found.

Nos gusto mucho nuestra estadia, excelente ubicación cerca de la plaza, lugar muy tranquilo, pocas habitaciones, ideal para descansar. Cocina muy bien equipada, desayuno típico muy rico, y cálida bienvenida del dueño del hotel, siempre dispuesto a brindar información. Super recomendable para los viajeros que aprecian todo eso!

Já gostei do lugar antes de chegar em Santa Ana e fazer o check-in. Por conta de feriado e suspensão de linha de ônibus que precisaria tomar, tive toda a atenção e cuidado para refazer meus planos de reserva em contato por whatsapp. Ao chegar, ainda mais cuidado e tive uma ótima experiência na hospedagem e na cidade.

We had a wonderful stay in Santa Ana and felt at home thanks to Luis and his family. There was fresh coffee every morning which was such a lovely touch and a perfect way to start the day. The courtyard was beautiful and peaceful. We rented a motorbike from Luis which made it easy and fun to take day trips around the area. He also gave us great local recommendations.

We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Ana!

L'emplacement dans la vieille ville, la terrasse qui donne sur les volcans, l'eau à disposition, la bienveillance du personnel.... C'est dans une impasse alors peu de bruit, j'ai pu me reposer des longues marches et c'est une vieille maison très jolie. Pour la restauration, le quartier dispose de tout. Proche du terminal des autobus.
Par contre, le prix pique un peu pour la réalité du logement, je dirais même qu'il est excessif.

A lovely place to stay for the first few days in El Salvador. Luis did so much to help us. He works so hard making sure everyone has what they need and that they have the trips booked that they want to go on. The guest house is a friendly space for people to either do their own thing or meet other travellers. It’s close to the main square too and feels very safe.

What a gem, don’t hesitate to book. Louis is amazing, helping us so much with our stay. We adored his company.
Make sure you have breakfast here, it’s beautiful so much care was taken into preparing this.

+ genügend steckdosen bei jedem bett, mit kleiner ablage für brille oder handy
+ sehr zuvorkommende familie, hilft bei allem
+ man kann direkt im hostel einen roller mieten: dieser war in top-zustand und wir haben die ausrüstung desinfisziert erhalten
+ sie bieten auch touren an (das haben wir leider aber erst im nachhinein erfahren, deshalb kann ich nichts über die qualität erzählen)
+ gut ausgestattete und saubere küche
+ lage ist auch top (ausserhalb vom lärm, aber nicht zu weit weg)
+ luis spricht super englisch
+ es gibt WARMES wasser zum duschen!
+ wifi hat einwandfrei funktioniert

La chambre familiale est super et surtout loin de la route donc du bruit. Et en plus il y a un salon extérieur. La cuisine est super bien équipée et propre. Luis et sa famille est adorable et répond à toutes les questions. Le petit déjeuner est bon surtout celui proposé avec de l' avocat 🥑

Von außen nur an einem kleinen Schild am Tor zu erkennen, öffnet sich ein verwinkeltes altes Haus. Es gibt eine gut ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche und viele schattige Sitzplätze im Innenhof. Wäscheservice im Haus und das Auto kann man auch mieten. Teurer als bei anderen Vermietern, dafür direkt ab Tür und mit einer echten Einweisung. Luís ist außerdem ein wandelndes Lexikon, wenn es um Ausflugsmöglichkeiten und Transfers geht und einfach ein offener, netter Mensch.
Durch die zur Straße abgeschottete Bauweise sind die Zimmer sehr ruhig. In wenigen Minuten ist man trotzdem in der Altstadt mit Kathedrale und Park.
Was mich aber am meisten begeistert hat, ist, dass wirklich an alles gedacht ist. Endlich mal genug Haken im Bad und Haken, um Kleider im Zimmer aufzuhängen. Lampe an jedem Bett, USB-Ladegerät an jedem Bett, Küche nicht nur mit dem Nötigsten, sondern richtig viel, Trinkwasserspeicher... Und: so bald Luís bemerkt, dass irgendwas anders sein sollte oder fehlt, wird es umgesetzt. Beispiel: wir hatten eine Stirnlampe auf den Tisch gelegt, um beim Abendessen mehr Licht zu haben. Am nächsten Tag brachte er eine Akkulampe. Und als die nicht hell genug war, noch eine.
Mich wundert nicht, dass das Casa Vieja so gut bewertet ist. Und das hat die Familie auch wirklich verdient.
