Moderne Hotel

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Parking (next door) was easy & cheap, as promised. Location was exactly where we wanted to be. Front desk personnel were very helpful. We'll be back with my CA relatives!

It was fine, but neither the room nor the lounge were as nice as described on the website. Additionally, the Wi-Fi didn’t work and the room was boiling, even when we tried to use the AC. The staff were very friendly and the location was good, but nothing about the place really stood out, and there are better places for a similar price.

We have been in this nice place for leisure, couple with a 7month old baby: location and atmosphere were great, everything has been perfect, best part was the staff very friendly and welcoming; our special thanks for Jerry & Andy , very kind and helpful, they made our stay in NY despite the freezing weather they were so warm 🥰 a special thanks by our baby , she had 2 new nice best friends. Awesome and special both of‘em ❤️

I love this little boutique hotel and have stayed here twice now. The staff are super lovely and very friendly - they often learn your names and just make you feel so welcome. Both rooms on both visits were great. Love the modern(e) styling.
The rooms are clean and tidy. The rooms have a small fridge and they even provided a kettle (requested in my booking). The location is incredible, with a great little store on the corner open late.

I didn’t plan on staying at the Moderne Hotel—but thanks to the recent NYC snowstorm, I found myself unexpectedly stuck there, and honestly, I couldn’t have landed in a better place.

From the moment it became clear that travel wasn’t happening, the staff at the Moderne turned a stressful situation into a genuinely warm and memorable experience. Melisa and Andy at the front desk were absolute stars: calm, kind, and incredibly helpful, even while juggling a lobby full of stranded guests. They made everyone feel seen and taken care of, which goes a long way when the city is frozen solid outside.

The bellmen, Hamza and Jerry, were equally fantastic—friendly, upbeat, and always ready to help with luggage, directions, or just a reassuring smile. You could tell they truly cared about the guests’ comfort, not just doing their jobs.

And a huge shoutout to their manager, Rob, who clearly sets the tone for the whole team. His leadership shows in the way the staff works together seamlessly, with professionalism and genuine hospitality.

Being stuck because of a snowstorm isn’t ideal—but if it has to happen, this is exactly the kind of hotel and team you want around you. The Moderne Hotel didn’t just give me a place to stay; they gave me a sense of comfort and humanity when it mattered most. I’ll absolutely be back—hopefully under sunnier circumstances, but with the same amazing staff.

Location is terrific for visiting Central Park, Broadway, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nicely decorated. We had extended family in multiple rooms, so the guest lounge was a great place for us to meet and have breakfast or coffee together.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, verständnisvoll und zuvorkommend. Die Ruhe nachts mitten in einer Grossstadt war unerwartet gut.

Really enjoyed my time at moderne rooms were nice, clean and at a great price, the grab n go breakfast was quick and tasty (just be sure) to get there early! Keenan was great at check-in allowing us early access to our rooms free of charge!
