Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Yantian

Excellent and awesome experience during my stay at Hyatt Regency. Will be looking forward to staying at the facility the next time.

The overall services and experiences here are excellent and pleasant.
We are on a family trip and either the front desk or Lounge staff are pretty friendly and helpful since we checked in. We got a compliment upgrade to a Seaview room. Although the weather is cloudy but the view from room is awesome. The nice lady in Lounge gifted game tokens to my kids and they enjoyed the game machines and swimming pool a lot during the stay.
The hotel is in a perfect location next to Yantian Harbour and shopping mall within steps distance.
I would highly recommend this hotel for both family and biz trip.

Good location and dining option around but a bit under expectation with AC compare with other Hyatt Hotel

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Yantian while bringing my student to Shenzhen for a competition, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. The hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable, but what really made the stay exceptional was the level of service—especially from Ivy at the lounge.

Ivy was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. She went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. The staff also helped us arrange a meeting room and assisted with printing out materials for the competition, which made our trip so much smoother.

From check-in to check-out, everything was handled efficiently and with a genuine smile. This hotel really understands hospitality, and it shows in the details. I’ll absolutely choose Hyatt Regency Yantian again the next time I’m in Shenzhen.

Room is small for the price, not valuable.

The hotel is very modern and the tallest building in the area with reception on 31st floor and rooms going up to 50th. The location is very peaceful but has great views over the ocean and is attached to a shopping mall with plenty of restaurants. A place to relax and enjoy facilities but less so if you want all of the bars of Shenzhen and nightlife.

The rooms are very modern and the regency suite is a great size with a big bathroom and powerful shower ((it is about 90m2). Unlike many hotels, the room has great lighting (although bright in day anyway due to large windows) and lots of sockets which also fit HK / UK plugs. Huge living area and comfortable bed. Maintenance can also adjust air con to HK cooler temperatures as it seems to be more standard here (as well as Korea) to like heat!

Housekeeping are exceptional and do a great job every day and always leave plenty of water. Always smiling and say hello when walk past. Probably the best of any hotel and including Grand Hyatts or Ritz Carltons.

Check in is a little painful as very few speak English with just the taller guy being able to and is always welcoming (the ladies don’t smile).

The breakfast buffet is very good with a large range of western and Asian dishes. In contrast to the front desk, it is the ladies who are always so welcoming and making sure all is ok v the bow tie waiters who don’t really acknowledge - the exception being Sean who saw me trying to get the empty ketchup and I gave up and without asking he proactively brought to my table.

Room service has a basic menu until 11pm but is very good value for money, tastes good and delivered very quickly. Often when ordering they cannot understand the English version and so will come to room to ask which is fine (I think some of the younger room service guys speak better English than the operator).

Now to the 2 outstanding parts of the hotel which beat many hotels:

The gym is outstanding and operated by a third party (7am to 11pm) and is very big - bigger than pure gym in HK which costs HKD 2,000 a month .it has a huge free weight area with multiple bench presses and dumbbells up to about 50kg plus all the weight machines you could ever have and endless cardio machines. Also, there is a boxing ring and a nice relaxing area with tables. There are classes (not sure if hotel guests are allowed to use) and also a large outdoor swimming pool. The gym seems to have a reasonable membership but generally you can always get on the weights you need (never an issue for cardio). There is an added benefit for hotel guests as there is a small 24 hour gym with card access next to the main gym and which I have only ever once seen one person in - it can be handy for doing lighter dumbbell weights (has up to 20kg) and also cable machine and some other machines - therefore a very handy addition when for example something is busy in the main gym and so never a need to wait. Oh the pool is heated well (slightly annoying you have to wear swim caps but this is a Shenzhen thing v the gym and they sell cheaply in the gym). The one suggestion I would have is that there is a spin room with about 20 bikes and rarely used v 1 spin bike weirdly placed in weights area of gym - it would be great if they would put 1 in the 24 hour gym as I have not worked out whether you can use in spin room by myself (like most chain gyms) but I haven’t seen anyone else doing and so have not risked getting told off.

The other excellent area is the club lounge and which has great views and plenty of tables and space to work. The lounge hours are short as they open 2pm (1pm at weekends) to 9pm but there doesn’t seem to be the demand to open later. Ivy who manages the lounge is always welcoming and made sure all my room requests were ready in advance - she really cares about the guest experience and tries hard to speak English and is always smiling.. Sam is the perfect ambassador of the hotel and also makes the lounge as he is always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble and works very hard and goes above and beyond and often acts as a translator to the others- you can always be sure of a great experience when he works (and Ivy)). With ambassador at Marriott as well as globalist at Hyatt, Sam certainly is among a small group of the best of all the club lounges I have visited.

Club lounge food is reasonable with a live noodle station (and eggs, ham and often fried chicken or fish or bread and butter pudding) and usually 3 other hot dishes and rice and a good cold selection (including sandwiches and meat) and a selection of deserts. Sometimes, I wish they would make the food more simple as for example, I love green beans but they cover with olives and which is an acquired taste as so no green beans for me. Scrambled egg with tomato is my favourite. Drink selection has massively improved after I gave a little feedback with 2 bottle beers (including usually Heineken), 2 good white wines, sparking wine and maybe 8 to 10 spirits (including luckily Jack Daniels but I wish they would revert to absolut vodka v some unheard of vodka). It is very different from say HK lounges which are packed and also where they go through about 50 bottles of wine a day and endless spirits as few drink here and so I understand why they had a more limited selection initially and appreciate they immediately listened to feedback (impressive to be so responsive) and also added Jack Daniels.

Gaia as rooms director has also been very helpful and accommodating.

Overall a great hotel if you are looking for somewhere modern with great rooms and amazing gym and pool facilities and a great club lounge.

Excellent place, view, facility and service, breakfast is exceptional!

The hotel is only 6 years old and extremely well maintained. The hotel staff and management are very friendly and makes the guests feel welcomed. The hotel is also well located, next to the One Mall shopping center, which makes shopping and dining fairly easly. The surrounding area is walkable and the view is great and very tranquil looking towards the Hong Kong side.
