What a wonderful place. Beautiful art deco building. Great room with nice views. Fabulous lobby bar. The best and friendliest staff. Free shuttle around downtown. This place has it all!
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Checking in and checking out was easy. Bellhop, and front service people were polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They treated me with respect and also kept an extra eye on my car as it is a frequently stolen vehicle
(challenger). Couldn't stay get closer to the venue The Rave aka (Eagles Ballroom). I even met the performers before hand that were staying in the same hotel. Jeff and Kevin from Hippie Sabotage. Altogether a great trip and we will be using the Ambassador again for our next show there.
Nice rooms. Unique cool building. Front desk gentleman was super nice and helpful
Food was ok.
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and close to the ballpark.
Convenience. Safe. Gated. Parking. Shuttle.
Was dirty. Blanket had stains and bathroom was dirty. But it was fine for a night
This is a nice throwback in time. The staff was so nice. The room had some issues -- lamp shade was torn, curtain was not all the way on the rod. I was disappointed there was no microwave in the room. The one MARVELOUS feature was many safety rails in the bathroom.. While there was not a roll in shower, there were multiple rails that made it SO MUCH easier and safer for me. I would stay here again for that reason alone. The bed pillows were fantastic. It is a roomy space and the bathroom is huge which was appreciated. The elevator is a hoot. The hotel had a wonderful "feel" to it. I Wish there had been clear written guidelines, as I am deaf and it is difficult for me to ask instructions and information.
Loved the happy hour food and drinks in the Art Deco setting
Loved it all
I've had to update my review because The Ambassador has fallen so far from what it once was. I came to Milwaukee for in person appointments and decided to stay overnight because I figured I could just get some remote work done in my room instead of traveling all the way back home overnight. When I am checking in is the first time I hear about the internet being out. I'm told that it should only be a few hours by the man at reception. I don't know anyone's name because nobody was wearing name tags. I left and did some running around. I got in the shuttle, but I got off at one of the other guests stops because it was too loud and boisterous. When I came back after 8:30 I was told that the internet should be back up before 10. I check at 10:30 and they tell me they don't know when it will be back up. I looked at other hotels, but they were now triple the price and I would then be spending more than losing by staying here and not getting my work done. In my room there's a single, dirty drinking glass so I go to reception to ask for a clean one. The guy goes back to the kitchen and proceeds to bring me 2 more dirty glasses. I show him that, he leaves again, and then he comes back with the same 2 glasses but they seem rinsed, but not dried so they're dripping wet. I just take them and wash them in my room.
This morning I go to order from the Deco Cafe. My phone was charging, so I call the front desk to see if they can connect me with the cafe. The lady yells at me "What in room dining!?!?" and I tell her that's what it's labeled in the pamphlet. She tries to connect me but it rings back to her so I just ask for the extension and call myself. No answer. I go down to the Cafe and no one is there. I go to the front desk, and then she goes to the Cafe as well, and now the lady is back, saying she was in the bathroom. I go to place my order (I wanted the bagel and lox because it was amazing the last time I was here) but I'm told they don't make that anymore, EVEN THOUGH ITS ON THE MENU ONLINE THEY REFERENCED IN THE PAMPHLET.
I'm so disappointed in what this place has become. I don't know if it's the partnership with Wyndham, or the general manager they all kept referring me to who wasn't there, but I'm heartbroken to see this place go downhill. They don't control the neighborhood they're in, but they sure decided to fit right in at this point. I just wanted to let people know that if you've stayed before, please don't expect the same level of class and service that you have gotten before
Close to town. Interesting architecture.
Seemed expensive, especially breakfast.
Nice size room. Clean facilities. Art deco design.
