Comfortable and clean hotel, walking distance of downtown historic district of shops and restaurants.
Pros:

The staff was warm and welcoming ad super helpful. The location was perfect as our goal was to be able to walk around the historic district.

Cons:

The level and even the room we were on had steps up and down.

Historic hotel with modern conveniences!
Pros:

Loved the preservation of the historic building, and the art deco designed lobby area. The food at their restaurant (the Monarch) is exceptionally good, though a bit pricey. Portions are much larger than expected. Also liked that there’s no pool, since pools tend to be noisy. There is a “speak easy” called the Wicked Rabbit. There is a fitness room.

Cons:

As long as the road construction continues along Farnam and Harney streets, you are going to want to use their $25 valet parking. Their parking is under the hotel. The rooms look pretty much like any hotel room, honestly.

Beautiful historic building with lodging, food, and full bar.
Pros:

Don’t let all the road construction deter you from staying here. GPS may not help a great deal right now since some roads are closed around the hotel.
The Deco is in a historic building, and the lobby features most of the “art Deco” design with marble floors and walls, and lovely designs.
They have a really wonderful restaurant called the Monarch that takes you down a couple levels (like it’s sunken.) Don’t trust the online menus, they were all wrong. Prices are about what you would expect for the old market district. The food is very flavorful and tasty. I tried their pork egg rolls for an appetizer. Instead of a little egg roll like you might normally expect, these egg rolls were burrito-sized, with a crispy exterior.
There is also a “speak easy” but I didn’t get a chance to see it.
24-hour valet is a must right now with so much road construction, and worth every penny.

Historical charmer
Pros:

For a historical property, this one is wonderful. At ~$140/NT it’s fantastic. Be aware, as of Feb 2026, there is construction going on immediately outside right now, and I’m not sure if that’s why the rate was as good as it is, but I’d say this would compare to a $200+ a night property in most Midwest locations.

Room 600 is what I’d call a studio suite. Dining table could easily fit 6 (4 chairs provided). Comfortable bed, great pillows. Resort style shower. Robes provided. Fridge/micro/Nespresso in room.

Approximately a 15 minute walk from the CHI Center.

Service at Monarch restaurant is somme of the worst I've ever experienced anywhere!
Pros:

Hotel was fine. The Monarch restaurant connected to it was abysmal. I had horrendous service almost every meal. One meal I got up and left because they took 20 min and hadn't even taken my drink order. The next morning I went down at 7:15 (supposed to open at 7) and there was nobody there. No servers, no cooks - nobody. Of all the meals I had there, only the breakfast served by a waitress named Cheyenne was a positive experience. If you want to eat at the hotel where you stay, DO NOT STAY HERE!

Great hotel blending old design with modern rooms.
Pros:

I loved this hotel in downtown Omaha. I stayed 2 nights, and I think they upgraded my room--it was a really large corner room decorated to be cool. Dark colours in the room from the wallpaper to the furniture, but then a pop of colour with a big red couch in the middle of it all. There was a giant desk, a high-backed sitting chair, big flat-screen TV and all the other little amenities one would expect of a good hotel. Although the building is a 100+ year old Art Deco gem, the room didn't feel old at all, indeed very hip. The downside of the old building was that the windows, though providing great views of the city, let in road noise even 11 floor up, but there was no noise from the hallway or other rooms. For this I thought the value was pretty good, about on par with what I'd consider for this high-class of a lodging in other large cities.

One very good feature of the hotel is they have a free, private SUV airport shuttle. Just call ahead (email didn't seem to work) to reserve it maybe a day before you arrive. The service, both from the driver and front desk staff, was always quite friendly and helpful. I really loved that they let me know about the hidden cocktail bar next door that arguably is the best in the Midwest. Certainly best I've found.

Although the hotel is downtown, walking west of the hotel--even just one block down--was really rough and didn't feel too safe. So beware. Heading toward the river seemed fine, and it is about 3 blocks from the Old Market area. Not a bad walk. Because it is mostly downtown offices, the streets are quiet at night. There are a few good dining options within the area, including a lot in Old Market.
