How close it was to everything we needed. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Smells nice
The construction around it, but that had nothing to do with the hotel
The style was really cool, the staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was large, the restaurant was good.
The pillows were overly large and uncomfortable, which is the only thing i can think of that i didn’t like.
Property was clean. Staff was friendly and very inviting!
Charles at the front desk is always awesome whenever we see him! And they upgraded our room for us which was amazing! We always stay when we come into town for shows ! Great place to stay
I love all the aesthetics and theme of the hotel, the breakfast was not included but a very reasonable price and tasted amazing. Staff was very nice the bar had very great drinks
My only complaint would be the space under the door made it very easy to hear all the slamming shutting doors and conversations. They need bathroom vents some kind of fart fan in there for the rest of us 😂
It was such a unique, fun and beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown with lots of fun things to do as well. The surroundings were awesome and it was just such a great atmosphere.
There was nothing that we did not like
This was our third stay back here again while going to a show at Steelhouse
Not the properties fault but there’s currently construction making it more of a challenge to get in & out
Hotel itself and location were fantastic. There was just a lot of construction and took a while to figure out how to get there with streets closed. Not Hotel Deco’s fault or fixable until construction is finished.
The staff was warm and welcoming ad super helpful. The location was perfect as our goal was to be able to walk around the historic district.
The level and even the room we were on had steps up and down.
The view of downtown
The construction which is not the properties fault
Loved the preservation of the historic building, and the art deco designed lobby area. The food at their restaurant (the Monarch) is exceptionally good, though a bit pricey. Portions are much larger than expected. Also liked that there’s no pool, since pools tend to be noisy. There is a “speak easy” called the Wicked Rabbit. There is a fitness room.
As long as the road construction continues along Farnam and Harney streets, you are going to want to use their $25 valet parking. Their parking is under the hotel. The rooms look pretty much like any hotel room, honestly.
Don’t let all the road construction deter you from staying here. GPS may not help a great deal right now since some roads are closed around the hotel.
The Deco is in a historic building, and the lobby features most of the “art Deco” design with marble floors and walls, and lovely designs.
They have a really wonderful restaurant called the Monarch that takes you down a couple levels (like it’s sunken.) Don’t trust the online menus, they were all wrong. Prices are about what you would expect for the old market district. The food is very flavorful and tasty. I tried their pork egg rolls for an appetizer. Instead of a little egg roll like you might normally expect, these egg rolls were burrito-sized, with a crispy exterior.
There is also a “speak easy” but I didn’t get a chance to see it.
24-hour valet is a must right now with so much road construction, and worth every penny.
For a historical property, this one is wonderful. At ~$140/NT it’s fantastic. Be aware, as of Feb 2026, there is construction going on immediately outside right now, and I’m not sure if that’s why the rate was as good as it is, but I’d say this would compare to a $200+ a night property in most Midwest locations.
Room 600 is what I’d call a studio suite. Dining table could easily fit 6 (4 chairs provided). Comfortable bed, great pillows. Resort style shower. Robes provided. Fridge/micro/Nespresso in room.
Approximately a 15 minute walk from the CHI Center.
