Just wish your pool was up and running
Staff was excellent. We had some issues with the key card and they completed getting it taken care of as soon as possible. The breakfast was good, it was small but it served the purpose. I liked that they kept the ice water available all day.
Although we didn't choose the hotel for the pool, it would have been nice to have that available.
The only positive part of my stay was the location and the super nice employees.
Only given 1 room key. (Their card badging machine was broken and they had to physically go to the hotel room door to badge the card, and did so nicely when my card quit working). Shower was hot then cold during every shower. Lastly the breakfast was crap. Hard boiled eggs was the only protein option. There was nothing served hot except the coffee that was empty most of the time. I am a GM of a food establishment in Texas and deal with this on a daily basis. The employees were great! I believe the problem lies with management or possibly upper management/ district manager, aka corporate), also there were a few people living in the cars behind the location. Pretty sketchy.
SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD: Disabled Guest Threatened by Staff; Zero Accountability from Management or Corporate
DO NOT STAY HERE. As a physically disabled traveler with no use of my right arm and a pronounced limp, my safety was completely compromised at this property, and neither local management nor Wyndham Corporate cares.
When I arrived to check in, the front desk was completely unstaffed. After waiting and calling out for multiple minutes with no answer, I opened the door to the staff area—without stepping inside—just to try to get a staff member's attention. An employee named Daniel (who has large tattoos on his neck and face, along with large piercings on his ears and nose) opened the door fully and immediately erupted into an aggressive, unprovoked tirade. He swore at me continuously, called me names, and followed me outside into the parking area, threatening to physically fight me. As someone who is visibly disabled, I was put in severe danger by an employee actively threatening violence.
Throughout this entire ordeal, I remained completely calm. Manager Andrew Sharp came out to intervene. Daniel continued screaming profanities, reportedly quit his job on the spot, and walked out to his truck. Shockingly, Andrew Sharp appeared completely unbothered that an employee had just verbally assaulted and threatened a guest. To make matters worse, when my booking agency called the hotel shortly after I fled, Daniel answered the phone—Andrew Sharp had immediately hired him back!
While Andrew Sharp did acknowledge in a follow-up email that Daniel swore, he completely ignored the most egregious parts of the incident: the explicit physical threats, Daniel quitting, and his immediate re-hiring. When I escalated this to Wyndham Corporate, they completely failed to address these serious safety violations or hold management accountable.
This hotel allows hostile employees to threaten disabled guests without consequence. Stay somewhere else where your safety is taken seriously.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Beds were not very comfortable. Carpets were a little bit dirty and dingy. Pool was closed due to a gas leak.
Staff is very friendly.
Bathroom cleanliness. Also the hot water was not available all the time.
Property in need of updating but it wasn’t horrible. Room was clean, staff was friendly, price was good.
Pool not open.
A convenient location with direct access to Hwy 285, friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms and facilities, good showers.
The mattress in my room had quite a bit of sagging from its accumulated use over time.
Location was great for what we needed. Friendly management and front desk gentleman. Room was spacious. Bathroom was a good size.
Didn't know from Booking.com that the pool was closed. We wouldn't have booked it otherwise. Asked for TV to get fixed. It was broke the whole stay, no communication regarding it. Phone broken, but we didn't use it. Asked for towels and trash only instead of whole housekeeping service. Nobody showed up. Contacted front desk and she told me I'd have to bring the dirty towels down from 3rd floor to exchange them out myself. Asked how we could get trash taken out and clean towels the next day without having to carry 4 dirty towels, wash cloths, and hand towels down myself. The lady told me they only do housekeeping once during a stay. I told her we hadn't had it yet, so please schedule it for the next day! Asked kitchen staff for more coffee during breakfast, twice. Had to take coffee carafe back to the kitchen myself, and the lady was doing crafts, making some sort of satin roses. I told her we needed coffee. She said ok. I just stood there. She finally walked over and grabbed a full carafe and brought it out. I told her we needed syrup. She said ok, and went back to making the roses.
Front staff
Breakfast could be a little better
The shower would start out warm/hot but here would be a shot of cold and then it wouldn’t get hot again.
NA
There was no safety grips on the shower floor. I did slip and fall in the shower.
Location and size of room
Had to pay for Internet.
Took a VERY long time to get hot water in shower even warm water.
Had to scan card to room at least 4 times every time to get into room.
Handle to get in room was hard to get in.
Breakfast wasn't as expected like other Laquinta s. Most will have waffles, hot eggs, sausage or bacon, at least a couple cereals. This one had one kind cereal and only waffles.
