Cleanliness
8.9
Standard quality for this hotel tier.
Service
9.7
Staff repeatedly described as friendly, attentive and knowledgeable (especially in the bar/restaurant); a few service lapses noted (blanket request not fulfilled, climate-control not pointed out) but overall very positive.
Location
8.6
Excellent location for pub/restaurant access and close to attractions; convenient on-site parking and outdoor seating. Some rooms are directly above the bar/road leading to noise for early sleepers.
Room Quality
6.8
Mixed to negative: issues with sleep quality (no heating in one report, thin walls, noise from bar/road, early sunrise due to lack of blackout curtains), accessibility problems (outside/spiral stairs, no lift), and some temperature control/bed-size inconveniences.
Amenities
9.8
Standout amenities cited: free Wi‑Fi, complimentary Netflix, big showers, heated bathroom mirror, in-room mini-fridge with fresh milk, climate control units, on-site parking, and complimentary pastries — well regarded by guests.
Value for Money
8.9
Standard quality for this hotel tier.
Food and Beverage
9.5
Restaurant and bar repeatedly praised (excellent food, superb beers/ciders); breakfast is available and varied for some stays but there are consistent complaints about limited breakfast restocking and lack of healthy options.
Overall Experience
9
Overall very positive experience driven by excellent food, drinks, amenities and friendly staff, but sleep/disruption issues (noise, heating/curtain problems, stairs) may deter light sleepers or those with mobility needs.

A good place to stay, any problems outweighed the stay worth 9 out 10, the scale I prefer.
Pros:

Apart from French breakfast not replenished as it should have been. and there being some problem with one of the beers. It was central even for the event at RAF Syerston held on the 20th.

Cons:

The way you got to the rooms was interesting particularly if it was wet. and the replenishment of breakfast in the morning was not done properly. The Restaurant was excellent and the Bar at the front was the sort that you would find in old Inns.

Excellent place to stay
Pros:

Excellent location, beautifully furnished and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Pub excellent food and drinks.

Cons:

Could have done with more orange and milk in the fridge for the breakfast- but I'm sure if we had asked they would have supplied....

Great pub and location but wouldn't stay again due to poor sleep quality.
Pros:

The pub was lovely, great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Cons:

No heating in the room. 7°C at night, it was really cold. Requested more blankets but didn't receive them. Sunrise at 0430 and no black out curtains meant an early wake up call and traffic noise all night which could have been blocked out with better windows.

Amazing find for beer/cider, food, accomodation and professional friendly staff - highly recommend!
Pros:

Pretty much everything was over and above what we expected! Thoughtful extras made the stay - like- prpoer coffee bags in the room, free wifi, complimentary netflix, big shower, heated bathroom mirror to prevent steaming up, climate control machine in the wardrobe - very essential in the heat of the weekend of our stay! .. and all in a grade 1 listed building
The bar had amazing beers and ciders, and nothing prepared us for the superb food in the attached restaurant - this is far more than a pub kitchen!!! Excellent attentive knowledgable staff, good on site parking, great outside seating area, and the icing on the cake was the complimentary muffins and pastries for anyone to take to their rooms for a tsay breakfast whatever time you needed to leave. We knew on the Sunday we had a 6.30 start and thought there would be no chance of breakfast on any type, and this blew us away. Thank you for thinking of everything!!

Cons:

Only very minor things which are impossible to do anything about - biggest bed you could get into the room meant moving round was a bit of a squeeze, but at the age and size we are, we would not have swopped the big double for anything smaller! The access to the accommodation is via an outside metal staircase and then inside spiral stairs - there is no lift , so you do need to be reasonably mobile and not have big bags to carry up - again, old listed building, it is what it is. The inside sash windows are secondary glazed to cut out noise, but even when opened, the room was still very warm that weekend, and much better when we found the climate control machine which was not pointed out to us verbally or by written instruction. I've really had to rack my brain and be picky to offer anything in this section, and most of it is outside of your gift to fix.

Really nice pub and restaurant but not great for an early nights sleep and a decent healthy breakfa
Pros:

Excellent restaurant

Cons:

Room above bar and next to road.
If you want an early nights sleep, thats not possible.
Also thin walls on bedrooms. Could hear snoring in next room.
Breakfast is poor. Just boxes of cereals and cake/ pastry.
It says ham and cheese but not available and nothing healthy.

Gemütliche Unterkunft mit einem super Pub dabei!
Pros:
