Noise from traffic
Hotel was old, tub old and stained needed replaced, bathroom sink didn't drain well or at all! smelled musty old A/C unit at window. I will never use booking.com again. when i looked up front desk phone # and called to say we were on our way even though it was after 3pm check in. The lady who said she was there at front desk said you didn't pay to hold your room thru Booking.com and I only have two rooms left. I believed her and she proceeded to book us another room and took credit card # over phone. when we got to hotel front desk we had 2 rooms booked and found out the second room for $131 was booked from a lady in the country of Dubai!!!!had a difficult time with front desk person. they said when it's thru a 3rd party they can't see on their computer the price or even confirmation #!!! It was an awful experience and booking.com should have not charge us because We didn't use that confirmation # and reservation!!! we used one room that we were scammed into from the country of Dubai saying she was front desk person. Booking.com should have not charge us!!! We didn't use their reservation!!!

We stayed here until our a/c was repaired, since it is a pet friendly hotel and we have two small dogs it seemed like the right choice. Boy was I wrong. The lady that checked us in that night was really nice, but the day shift clerk not so much. She was rude, almost like she was being bothered. The room smelled of pet urine, so bad that my husband had to go and get air freshener so that we could deal with the smell. there was trash left in the trash bin when we entered the room, and the tub in the bathroom was dirty that I didn't want to shower in it. When we got off the elevator there was so much trash piled up outside of the trash cans in the hallway. The elevator was stuffy and hot, the ac wasn't working in any of them. Our room was located in the back facing the freeway which was noisy and loud. Traffic all throughout the night, which meant no sleep. I would have been better off staying at my daughters place instead. I would not recommend this hotel to my family or friends if I want to keep them. The hotel lobby is nice and updated, but not the rooms. They're outdated and the tv program is a joke. They offer Netflix and YouTube that didn't work and you only have about 10 channels to choose from with the Dish Network that they use.
I have stayed at La Quinta hotels many times and at this particular Phoenix Mesa, La Quinta hotel at least six times.
And while I would love to be favorable and say all kinds of good things about La Quinta hotels, I find myself in a quandary because every single time they put me on the third floor at the far back end of the hotel, where the elevator takes forever to get to the floor sometimes it breaks down and they seem to always give me the same room
( I think I own this room by now lol)
At any rate this time I reserved my hotel well in advance approximately two weeks in advance I requested a ground floor room for my handicapped wife, and I also requested a walk-in shower which they assured me I had when I got here on the day of my reservation, they gave me another third floor room with a handicap accessible tub.
So if you’re looking for people, that’ll tell you the truth and honor the reservations. Perhaps La Quinta is not the place for you but if you want a nice room at a reasonable price perhaps it is a room for you
Beautiful place right next to freeway. Quiet, comfortable, friendly and clean. Love the housekeeping policy!! Perfect for our 8 day stay.
Location, overall value, staff was friendly
The stairwells and elevators stunk like animals wet dog and cat piss. I’d recommend more routine attention to that
Full size beds are for the birds and not comforter
First off the staff was excellent. When we needed more towels or toiletries, they gave us more with no hassles or questions. Their breakfast was any other continental breakfast so it was good. Our room & kitchen were very clean. Would recommend to family & friends to stay here. I was very pleased. Thumbs up for me!
