Pros:

It’s a lovely hotel, with fantastic facilities (restaurant, gym, pool, garden), but boy is it overpriced (especially given the tiny room size of the Pagode room). Even rooms in NYC are bigger at that price point. :-D I’ve no problem with high-end hotels (and their price-range), but it has to feel somewhat fair, a feeling I missed in this case. Otherwise it was an ok stay, but nothing I would return for it, unfortunately.

The property is amazing. Paulliac is no st emillion in terms of restaurants and things to do , however this chateau is beautiful and the food and service is top level.

Pros:

Amazing hotel, every little detail in the room has been thought of for your comfort. Welcome madeleines were a lovely touch. We ate in the restaurant twice and food was incredible on both occasions. Very conveniently located just off the D2 for visiting local vineyards. Staff could perhaps have been a little forthcoming with information, such telling us what time breakfast was when we checked in etc, but they were friendly and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

This hotel was incredible. The staff were amazing from start to finish, the restaurant on site seemed to us to be the best in the area, the rooms comfortable and the setting beautiful and well done without being dated or stuffy.

Havre de paix magique où emmener votre moitié...
Pros:

Nous avions besoin de repos et d'authenticité... La maison d'Estournel nous a permis de nous régénérer. Personnel absolument parfait, d'une extrême gentillesse, cadre inspirant, jardin magnifique, chambre avec beaucoup de charme, literie parfaite, restaurant sur place excellent, vélos électriques à disposition pour sillonner les petites routes à travers les vignes. What else? Un véritable havre de paix où amener votre moitié.

Pros:

Stunning property and excellent staff, nothing was too much trouble (requested bicycles waiting for us on arrival and winery visit organised). Dinner on the terrace was a standout. After chatting with the chef about our liked/dislikes, he prepared an incredible bespoke gourmet meal for us based on fresh produce from the garden and local market.
