Pros:

Great service and beautiful hotel; however, it is definitely past its prime. The hotel is in need of updating and a renovation.

Best hotel in Houston
Pros:

I'm so indebted to this hotel!!
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the location very much.

I left my jewelry box in the safety deposit by accident. When I realized and called, The gentleman who answered was so helpful, told me they had been waiting for my call and sent it back to me as soon I described the details to him. Not a thing missing!!

Great family experience
Pros:

Came with my wife and daughter for a couple nights. Service was excellent, as several of the other reviews mentioned. Requested a few basic things during the stay - blanket, water, microwave - and everything was brought up promptly, by friendly staff. My daughter loved swimming at the pools both days. Room was spacious, and had a few nice touches - variety of dimmable light fixtures, large desk, comfortable chairs. Really enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous!!!
Pros:

I’ve stayed at so many Marriott’s and have been a lifeline Titanium for about 8 years. This stay was by far one of the best ever in every aspect. Staff was wonderful, and the level of attention to every detail is probably the best any guest could experience. Just doesn’t get any better than the St. Regis, Houston.

Pros:

Very unfortunate that such hotel couldn’t do much to fix situation or improve experience . Went for weekend to attend an event , from arrival we were informed the second day water will be off all day. Without any consideration how we would shower or even use restrooms. Situation didn’t end by one day second night also water was shut off.

An Old-School Lesson in True Hospitality
Pros:

The St. Regis Houston isn’t the newest or flashiest hotel in town. With its oak-paneled walls, equestrian artwork, and generous use of saddle leather, it feels old-school in a very Texas sort of way. If your priority is sleek, cutting-edge design and the latest in-room technology, this may not be the place for you.

Where the hotel truly excels, however, is in its service. At many luxury properties, a handful of standout staff members elevate the experience. But at the St. Regis Houston, every employee embodies hospitality at its finest—whether it’s the bell staff, front desk associates, butlers, or restaurant servers, each interaction feels effortless yet thoughtful, never scripted or stuffy.

As with many St. Regis properties in North America, the brand’s signature butler service is reserved for suite guests. However, unlike some sister hotels that shrunk the offering in the wake of Covid, these butlers provide the full range of services, from delivering complimentary coffee and tea on a silver tray to assisting with packing and unpacking, clothes pressing (two garments per day, gratis), and arranging transportation.

Guests can also take advantage of the house car, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis in the late morning, afternoon, and evening. It offers complimentary round-trip service within a two-mile radius, covering destinations like The Galleria as well as numerous upscale restaurants, banks, and essential stops.

Dining at the hotel is another strong point. Breakfast is available until 11 a.m. and arrived promptly via in-room dining, with both quality and presentation at the highest standard. 24-hour room service is available, and the hotel’s Remington lounge offers a dinner menu that, while not avant-garde, delivers solid and reasonably priced dishes for a luxury property. Don’t be fooled by the term “lounge”—the space is expansive and feels more like an elegant bistro than a typical hotel bar. Dessert, in particular, stands out as a real highlight and should not be missed.

Before my stay, I read reviews mentioning wear and tear in the rooms. While I can’t speak for standard accommodations, my Astor Suite was well maintained, possibly reflecting the tendency for hotels to prioritize suite upkeep. While the rooms lean traditional in design, they've been gussied up with Illy espresso machines and late-model flat-screen TVs. Suites also have Bose surround-sound systems and jetted tubs, though I'm told the jacuzzi feature is currently down for maintenance.

For those so inclined, a rooftop pool beckons, complete with a rock fountain and cabanas (on account of the light use, service is by QR code). There's also an adjacent spa, which operates by appointment only, and a small but well-maintained fitness center. Marble showers and lockers are available to poolgoers or those who would like to freshen up before their room is available.

My only real notes are of the nit-picky variety: the phone in my suite's bedroom had scratchy reception and should probably be replaced. Turndown service wasn't as elaborate as is usual for hotels in this class. The hotel serves Prosecco at its daily sabrage rather than proper champagne. None of these seriously detracted from my stay.

This isn't the most grandiose or bespoke luxury hotel I've encountered in my travels, but from the moment I arrived, I felt at ease, and that feeling remained until the moment I departed. That is the hallmark of a truly great hotel.

The St. Regis Houston earns my highest recommendation.

My Houston Go To
Pros:

This is my go to for stays in Houston. Exceptionally quiet, lovely and comfortable, and well appointed. Great check in experience with a new agent named George. He was awesome and I am sure he will be a great fit! William in valet was friendly and courteous. I appreciate the umbrella he gave me. Thanks to Liliana at desk. She thanked me for continuing to stay here and asked me to come back next time when in Houston. All around phenomenal experience, as always.

Old hotel, not true to the pictures.
Pros:

Pool is not true to the pictures, it is small, old and dirty. No inviting chairs around the pool, old and dirty flooring.
Old carpet throughout the hotel. Noisy air conditioning. Very limited room service menu.
The entire hotel needs an update.

Beautiful accommodating stay
Pros:

We were only here for one night but this property is 5 stars from start to finish. Our request for an ADA room was honored without incident. The room is large with two double beds. A hoyer lift could fit under the bed if needed. The bathroom was spacious with grab bars and the make up mirror was in a perfect position for someone in a wheelchair (or 5 feet tall!). The floor in the bathroom has 4x4 tiles in the wet area creating more friction to prevent falls versus the large 12x12 marble tiles you see now which are a slip fest for even the most able bodied individuals. Room service was prompt and hot with a lovely employee. The valet were kind and helpful. This will be our hotel of choice moving forward when we visit Houston. Thank you St Regis!
PS we had the best nights sleep as it was quiet and peaceful in this neighborhood!
