Hotel Danieli, Venice

We have stayed here on a few occasions over the years, although we no longer do so as we prefer modern, new, state of the art luxury suites. However, we never visit Venice without booking to dine at their superb rooftop restaurant, which is particularly good for breakfasts on Sunday mornings to enjoy the cacophony of church bells along with the glorious views.

We also have to visit their fabulous cocktail bar on the ground floor next to the gorgeous main staircase. The waiters are simply terrific, the barmen are the best. We always start with champagne cocktails and they simply cannot be bettered. The nibbles that arrive with cocktails are lovely and the icing on the cake is the exceptional pianist/vocalist.

Sometimes during busy periods, those enjoying cocktails are spread out outside of the Bar area in all of the other seating covering the immense, grand, glorious and most beautiful ground floor area. When this happens, the atmosphere is simply incredible. This is one of our favourite bars in the world and by coincidence our second most favourite bar is only a short walk away, Harry’s Bar.

If you wanted to taste a stay surrounded by grand elegance from yesteryear this is THE hotel to experience. Especially waking up to the views and then going onto the roof for breakfast.

Even if you were not staying, a visit to the cocktail bar is an absolute must, no reservation required. While you are there, evil want to get your photograph taken on the stair staircase next to the bar.

My wife and I recently stayed at the magnificent Hotel Danieli in Venice, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and from the moment we arrived, the level of service, attention to detail, and genuine care from every member of the staff were beyond exceptional.

We were greeted warmly by Damiano, whose professionalism and kindness set the tone for our stay. Alessandro handled our check-in with such attentiveness that we immediately felt valued and welcomed. Throughout our time at the hotel, it seemed as though every staff member knew it was my wife’s birthday—and each one went out of their way to acknowledge it in the most thoughtful, heartfelt manner. It made the entire experience incredibly personal.

The highlight of our celebration was dinner at the rooftop restaurant, which was unforgettable. From the gracious welcome to the impeccable service, everything was orchestrated to perfection. The sommelier and the head waiter were outstanding—knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely invested in making the evening special. They transformed what was already a beautiful setting into a truly magical birthday dinner.

Finally, our checkout with Silvia was handled with the same level of care and professionalism that we experienced throughout our stay. She was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and the perfect final touch to an exceptional visit.

Hotel Danieli is not just a stunning property; it’s a place filled with remarkable people who elevate every moment. We left with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and immense appreciation for the team who made my wife’s birthday so extraordinary. We cannot wait to return.

Hotel Danieli has an unforgettable atmosphere. The historic interiors and views over the lagoon create a romantic and unique stay. Waking up here feels like living inside a story set in old Venice.

Maybe one of the best places in Venice for a happy hour cocktail or a post-dinner digestif, or both is the lobby bar in the Hotel Daneli. A beautiful bar in a soaring lobby wonderfully decorated if you go at Christmas time. Friendly fun service on a great bar.

Абсолютно все понравилось! Сам отель выглядел шикарноб в самом центре Венеции, рядос с Сан-Марко. Номер с видом на лагуну был шикарен. Завтрак отличный. Персонал профессиональный, готов помочь с любым запросом. Мы праздновали день рождения и по приезду нас в номере ждал подарок от отеля, что приятно удивило.

Outstanding service, perfect location

Легендарный отель. Интерьеры действительно потрясающие. Идеальное расположение, волшебный вид. из номера (по рекомендации на ресепшн заплатили за вид и балкон практически двойную цену, но ни разу не пожалели!) Отличный сервис, консьержи, гондолы и проч.

Tout! Nous sommes de vieux clients qui venons au Danieli tous les ans en décembre. C’est une joie totale et tout l’établissement y contribue. Le Danieli est l’essence même des traditions de la très grande hôtellerie!
