The person at the registration was nice and cordial. I liked the shower and the amenities offered.
For such a pricey room, one would expect high quality insulation. We could hear the people next door as if they were in our room. No privacy. Their kids were very loud.
I did a long weekend here as a staycation to get rest, work and see family. at the end of march beginning of april. This was really a 5 star experience. I arrived at the time of planned elevator maintenance and Yared could not have been kinder or more helpful getting my stuff up the stairs. He was lovely to chat with and helped me get settled into my room. I also really appreciated housekeeping on this trip by Ann and Jin since they worked around my work schedule and made sure that I always had water including leaving some on my door and making sure to work around my zoom meetings. They were nice to chat with in the halls as well and very friendly. I took my daughter to tea on Saturday in the hotel and had a fabulous experience. Shahir and Rafael took impeccable care of us and we learned a lot about tea and the hotel from talking with them. I had dinner on Sunday night at the hotel in the Pied Piper and had the nicest waiter whose name I didn’t get but was very attentive and kind. The food and cocktails were fabulous. He also took great care of me. These folks represent the brand so well and really made my stay special. I felt cared for and was able to finally get some much needed rest and relaxation as well as get a lot of work done. while learning about the history of a really historic hotel. This was a fabulous experience and I would stay here again.
Nice looking hotel, convenient location
I would NOT recommend to purchase their breakfast package. They provide service in their small bar room (maybe not enough guests for Monday?) and we have to wait to be seated, wait to be serviced. The staff was not trained properly for a 5 star hotel. They gave us conflict information. Even though they did not have buffet breakfast, they told us that we purchased for buffet style, and some items like cappuccino would be additional charges. Fine, we paid for almost $100 for two breakfast, but have to pay additional for a cappuccino, after 30 minutes waiting to be seated. Which is more annoying one lady staff keep reminding us about the extra charge of cappuccino. Later on, our main waitress told us whatever we ordered is all included and she did provide a nice service.
We enjoyed the bar lite bites and drinks the day before, but next morning breakfast experience was a disaster.
Our doorman Jorge Treso was delightful, very helpful and accommodating. The best Greeter for the property
Beautiful historic hotel. Lots of art deco, high ceilings, chandeliers. One of the only hotels in SF with a pool, and it’s indoor. Great for families with kids. Has an adjacent gym and hot tub. Courteous and attentive staff. Food in the Pied Piper was excellent and the drinks. The to go breakfast nook wasn’t anything special and pricey. The rooms were spacious, tho bathrooms small. Very quiet. Beds a bit stiff. It’s in the downtown and the BART, F line and buses all out front and easily accessible. Restaurants nearby and if you want to walk, everything is doable. All in all, great experience!
Great location, nice pool
The noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Avoid the 4th floor at all costs - everyone traipsing past at all hours heading to the pool. Didn’t feel like a 5* place except the grand entrance hall downstairs, rooms very lacklustre & uninspiring.
It’s just a wow hotel! From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, its exceptional.
Having to leave.
Nous avons payé la chambre via Booking. Ils nous ont débité la totalité une deuxième avec la caution. Aucun retour de leur part. Il y en a pour 1000 euros.
The Palace Hotel is a beautiful piece of San Francisco history. The architecture alone is worth seeing, especially the famous glass-domed Garden Court.
Walking through the lobby feels like stepping into another era.
We watched the spectacular Lunar New Year parade from our hotel window and on the street right in front of this terrifically located hotel. Nonetheless, it was still a quiet stay with spotless accommodations and five-star service with every interaction we had. Whatever this hotel may lack for being a more than a century old historic hotel, it makes up for in modern details that don't distract from its old world charm. This hotel has a very nice gym and a lovely, good sized pool under a high arched glass walls and ceiling with sunny downtown cityscape views you might miss if you weren't backstroking. Really, I'm usually disappointed by hotel pools but this is something special. Don't miss a visit to the Pied Piper bar where the huge painting of the same name spans the wall behind the bar. Food is good too. Too bad it closes at 11pm.
Within walking distance of museums, restaurants, and other amenities
Everything was to my liking
Fabulous five-star hotel in the middle of downtown San Francisco. We're Marriott platinum and were bumped up to a large, very comfortable room overlooking Market Street. Some noise at night but not disturbing. Joy on the housekeeping staff was particularly great. So was the bell staff.
They also comped us breakfast at the Garden Court, a wonderfully lavish, early 20th century restaurant. There was a buffet with a wide variety of pastries, smoked fish, cereals/yogurt, and lots of perfectly ripe fruit. Special shout out to Nikki on the wait staff, who was exceptionally helpful and interesting to talk with about the history of the hotel. Also, there's a real Maxfield Parrish mural over the bar. They don't make them like this anymore.
Easy walk from there to Union Square, Chinatown, and the Ferry Terminal. There's a Muni/BART station just outside, so altogether we found the location extremely convenient for seeing the sites. Recommend it wholeheartedly. It deserves its five stars.
La comodidad

Excelente localização, as zonas comuns do hotel são históricas e lindas. O quarto estava bem decorado.
Isto nunca me tinha acontecido e parece-me que não faz sentido algum.
the room was small but comfortable for one adult and one child. the location was easily accessible by bart, uber, waymo, walking. breakfast (room service) was very good, but just one error was made on our order (daughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes and was served regular/plain).
the hot tub was out of order on day one, and the indoor pool could have been a few degrees warmer for february and because hot tub/jacuzzi was out of service.
