Upscale hotel with excellent customer service
Pros:

4 night stay in August. Excellent customer service, including at reception, concierge, and bellhop. We don't usually use concierge at hotels but they were extremely helpful in quickly arranging tickets for us to sold out tourist attractions. Small room but comfortable bed and clean bed. Only downside was not having my Marriot nightly upgrade award honored, even though the Marriott app showed availability in higher end suites throughout our stay. However, front desk did allow us very early entry into our room and late checkout, as well as a small room type upgrade to a room with a balcony. Would definitely recommend and would love to be back.

I guess it’s our first and last time there!
Pros:

I guess we are used to different kind of service in Paris. The location is good, the hotel offers reasonable rooms but overall service needs huge improvement. The concierge needs proper staffing, the reception needs proper staffing, the only place that has good staffing is the restaurant. The hotel as is the case with many hotels in Paris is quite old but the rooms relatively ok apart from the bathroom in the suite we stayed at where the tiles in front of the toilet have changed color (we guess from pee drops over the years!) quite disgusting view if you ask me! When we needed help from
The concierge to arrange an appointment or ship things back that we didn’t want to carry and there was a lot of back and forth and we felt she was not very helpful a bit abrupt in her way! We are used to Plaza Athene service and this stay didn’t come anywhere near the level of service we are used to. We ended up eating at the Four Seasons next door!

Impeccable service, gorgeous accommodations
Pros:

This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and taken to our King Suite balcony room, where we had a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us. The room was gorgeous and bathroom as well. The beautiful furnishings both in the room and throughout the hotel are stunning. We had a fabulous dinner at Akira Back, and Le Patio was a gorgeous place to enjoy a cocktail! This hotel’s location on one of the most beautiful streets in Paris was perfect for a walk to L’arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Very close to many beautiful shops. I will fly back to Paris simply to spend more time at this hotel, it’s that good!

6 pm check-in for a $2,500 a night suite
Pros:

As background, I am a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador. I spend a lot of nights in hotels and spend a lot of money with Marriott. When I arrived at the property, I was told I would not be able to get into my suite until 6 pm. Not sure how they could charge me the full nightly rate of $2,500 for this suite when I was not able to access it for a meaningful portion the day. This was a huge inconvenience for me and my family. I appreciate the staff trying to make it up with small gestures, it was not enough.

Luxurious but Guest Relations Manager Pretends to Care but Actions Say She Does Not Care
Pros:

Booked for an important occasion. Stayed at two other 5 star hotels for 5 nights each, the Intercontinental Dublin and the Four Seasons Cap-Ferrari. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member who joined the program 4in 1984 when it was the Marriott Marquis program. I have over 610 lifetime nights with Marriott and current Platinum status. I wrote ahead and outlined the special occasion and requested an upgrade. When I arrived the person at reception advised me that I would be provided with a choice. Then another person met me in the courtyard and informed me there was no upgrade available. I asked to double check, but the person said no.

I was disappointed but lived with the explanation.

Two days later I received a call from the guest relations manager supposedly to see how things were going. I tried to complement the small room in order not to hurt feelings. In conversation the guest relations manager stated that she debated on whether to put me in a larger room but was concerned as to whether I could make it to the elevator. Given we had a small room with 6 suitcases stacked in the corner of the room and we walk 4 miles a day, her comment seemed insulting. The other point was the room we were assigned was not close to the elevator so her statement made no sense. We walked 90 miles in April 2026. I do not appreciate her high handed decision to put us in a smaller room without consulting the guest.

On the day we checked out I received an email from her stating she was sorry she missed the day before when we checked out. So the guest relations manager could not even get the check out day right.

Normally an upgrade would not matter but this was our last big international trip celebrating our 45 anniversary. We spent 6 nights in this hotel. It was the only hotel where I requested an upgrade. It was the only hotel that did not upgrade me. I do not forgive the lack of guest care.

The hotel is luxurious. The rest of the staff is dedicated to service. The breakfast is delicious.

The guest relations manager needs guest relations coaching.

Family Visit
Pros:

The hotel’s service quality stood alone during our visit. Kalilou and Lars at the front desk worked to accommodate our room needs and the comfort of our stay along with the rest of the team. Housekeeping was quick to respond to our needs and the property’s dining options were of good quality. The property is slightly dated seen in some of the furniture and finishes but overall we greatly enjoyed our visit.

The doorman Frederic stole the show! Chapeau!
Pros:

The doorman Frederic was amazingly helpful in local info and getting us taxis. Give him a raise! A charming Frenchman. The hotel has much more warmth and atmosphere than the adjacent Four Seasons.

excellent
Pros:

I liked the breakfast service which was better than the usual buffet style which one usually has.
The staff were very helpful - anticipating our needs - eg booking a dinner externally for us, providing the car to the airport and keeping the room tidy.

Cons:

nothing specific but in this price bracket one would expect a remarkable experience comparable great hotels - eg the Savoy London or Gleneagles in Scotland. We were satisfied in this regard.
