Plenty of room for parking - however the code to leave made no sense. (Especially for taxi drivers).
The staff were friendly.
Breakfast - no grilled tomatoes (normally a staple)
The swimming area was ok - the scum on the top of the hot tub looked yuck.
It was a place of convenience- close enough to the NEC.
Everything about the hotel was really lovely, clean and comfortable. Our supper was quite nice, except there was a little too much salt on a lot of things, especially the lettuce in a 'house salad'! But breakfast was absolutely mega, and made up for it. We would love to stay again!
Super clean, comfortable room, bathrobes, fabulous breakfast selection
lovely location
It was just what you’d expect from a hotel & country club of this type. Perfectly comfortable if a bit dated. Some usb sockets in the rooms and public workspace areas wouldn’t go amiss.
The pool was nice
Hotel was clean and staff friendly
We visited about 25 years ago when it was shiny and new and amazing.
25 years later it's tired and some areas need a refurb.
Our room was clean enough. Very comfortable bed and quiet with decent internet.
Breakfast was positively excellent.
Service at dinner was so poor that they took the meals off the bill and we only paid for our drinks.... But we felt that was fair (we were in the restaurant nearly 2.5 hours and only managed 1 course.... Due to their lack of staff.)
We used this as a base for visiting the NEC.
The minor issues we had were resolved to our satisfaction.
I would book to stay here again.
With more staff and a refurbishment this place could be significantly better.
Run down hotel purely catering for golfers these days. Late night party woke us up at 3am. Spa area doesn’t feel clean. Huge queue for service at the bar - no urgency from bar staff. Some nice staff but look like rabbits in the headlights when dealing with any issues.
Very enjoyable
Splendid place
Booked this hotel accidentally - too many tabs open on my browser and chatting to a colleague looking for hotels near to the NEC. My fault completely, but I rang the hotel within 2 minutes of making the booking to be told "no you cannot cancel".
Check in rubbish - crap directions to my room.
Restaurant. Over priced and portion sizes small. Breakfast was a Rip off!
Bar. £7.50 for a pint.
Tea bags, coffee and biscuits not replenished until 3rd day.
Bathroom dated.
Location is ok for the NEC which is literally 10 mins away.
Stay again? No chance!
I stay in a lot of hotels and have to say, this is the worst ever hotel I've stayed at. 2 night stay x 4 rooms booked for colleagues. 1dt night dinner jn the restaurant was shambolic! We waited an hour just for starters. Overal food was sub-standard, service...I actually have no words for! Day 2 - no hot water, so unable to shower that evening before going out for dinner, still no hot water when returning from dinner and still nothing in the morning, so again unable to shower. There isn't enough characters in this review box for me to write everything, but the management team basically couldn't care less about the shambolic dinner experience, or the 24hrs+ without hot water! I think you can get the drift of this experience. I was offered 30% discount off my next stay as long as i booked direct, as compensation for this experience. As if i would ever stay here again....NOT A CHANCE IN HELL!! I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel, not even to someone I don't like. Steer clear of this place!
The boiler was broken and I was not informed of this on check in. This meant that there was no hot water, also when I came down for breakfast, there was plenty of choice. However, the hot food buffet was not hot.
Tired hotel, shower curtains, peeling wallpaper, old carpet but the clincher was no hot water for 2 days!
After travelling a long way this ruined my stay. I'll never be back.
The hotel and area is very nice, the only downside was the check in process. After a lond day travelling and having booked online, I don't understand the amount of time it took to check in
Really liked the hotel, the only problem, there was no hot water for a shower this morning, I hear they had an unexpected problem which was unfortunate but otherwise staff very friendly, lovely setting.
Lovely place, Nice Food ..... But Expensive Drinks.
Comfy, and good service, although ordering room service form the bar seemed to be confusing (but it all worked out).
All very organised & relaxing , comfortable bed & good pillows !
