I have already completed a survey in which i praised the facilities and the staff however i was a little put out by the fact i was asked for an extra £30 to check in early to a room that was already available and i had also stated we needed early check in when booking as we were attending an event that we needed to get to. The other members of my party arrived slightly after me but refused to pay the additional fee as they thought it unjust which then caused issues when we arrived back to check in late.
It was a fantastic location, the room was lovely and clean. The swimming pool was great and again very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful

This is an average business hotel, it is not set up for leisure visitors.
Low quality ground floor room (suite): shabby, broken furniture, meagre coffe/tea facilities, missing dressing gowns and slippers, empty mini bar, view of rubbish compound from window.
No restaurant as advertised on web site, the room is there but it is not open, only bar meals. There is a separate menu for pre-paid 3 course meal deal with a reduced number of lower quality items, you don't get access to the general evening bar meal menu, its a much poorer selection. One 'main course' was essentially a beef brisket toastie! very dissappointing.
No comfortable seating area for residents only the bar area. Bar area extensively used by business people using laptops and phones and holding meetings. We were there on holiday but felt we were sitting in the middle of an office.
No rear beer on tap but 6 types of Lager. Bar staff didnt even know they had Ale in bottles, took Manager to find it! Very amateurish.
'Spa' pool is used extensively by locals, busy, part sectioned off for kids, not relaxing. Loungers pushed out of way.
Hotel web site sells it as luxury 'spa' hotel for leisure but its just a bar with rooms for business people like any number of similar other much cheaper hotels nearby.
We booked this stay and meal for a special occasion at the start of a longer holiday but it was just such a let down, it spoiled the rest of the holiday.
The staff were great (except the bar) but couldn't make up for the poor quality amenities.
Great location and restaurant
Stayed here a few times first time in the summer. Noisiest aircon in the world impossible to sleep with it on and resulted in super hot room as you simply had to knock it off to sleep. Beds are also very very noisy the slightest movement and you can hear them creaking.

No fault can be made
The vast majority of the hotel staff were exceptional! They were super helpful and friendly and anticipated need - holding doors when they saw me approach, checking I knew where I was going etc. One of the most impressive things about them was their pleasant attitude. There seemed to be plenty of staff around the hotel to support customers. The only exception, somewhat ironically, were the Reception staff. I arrived 15 mins early for check in on one of the hottest days of the year and was somewhat peremptorily dismissed as check in didn’t open until 15:00. Whilst I appreciate I was early they could have shown me to a lounge or offered me a glass of water. When I eventually did get to the appropriate time, two of the staff were more concerned about finishing their conversation than checking me in.
The room was good and great value for money. However the air con units were absolutely useless! The cooled air was pumped out at the top of the unit and didn’t circulate within the room. The units were noisy and this meant it was impossible to have the one running in the bedroom whilst trying to sleep.
There was some problem with the internal IT system which I was made aware of at check in. However I didn’t realise this meant I couldn’t use room service or contact reception on the phone. A minor issue was the bedroom lights didn’t work.
I would definitely return because the positives more than outweighed the negatives. I feel sorry that the reception staff let the whole experience down for me as the rest of the staff have clearly had some excellent training.
