Overall the experience fell well short of what we expected from this hotel.
Pros:

We booked this hotel as it was close to a venue we were attending at the weekend. We also were keen to use the spa, gym and swimming pool.

Cons:

We booked this hotel expecting a relaxing and comfortable stay and were genuinely looking forward to our visit; unfortunately, the experience was consistently disappointing.

The cleanliness of our room fell below what we would reasonably expect. The telephone and remote control were dirty, and the hotel overall felt tired and in need of investment and attention to detail.

Our restaurant experience was particularly disappointing. The standard was closer to that of a mid-range chain restaurant than a hotel of this reputation. My daughter’s duck was served undercooked and still bloody inside. Despite this, no member of staff checked whether our meal was satisfactory, and when the uneaten dish was cleared away, the issue went entirely unacknowledged.

I raised the matter when settling the bill but received neither an apology nor any indication that the concern was being taken seriously. We later spoke with a member of reception who assured us it would be looked into; however, when we followed up the following day, we were informed that no record of the complaint had been made.

A manager subsequently met with us and offered a 10% discount on our room, advising that any further action would need to be pursued with head office. Wanting simply to draw a line under the experience, we reluctantly accepted. Nevertheless, we left feeling that guest feedback was not handled with the level of care or professionalism one would expect.

Based on this experience, we would not choose to return and would encourage the hotel to review both its standards and its approach to guest concerns.

Great place, it’s our little break away from the madness
Pros:

We have stayed at the property numerous times, and enjoy where it is and the quietness of the area. We like that everything is in the hotel and you don’t have to leave to use the facilities. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room & gym are all in the hotel. It has a great restaurant & bar with plenty of choice of food & drink at reasonable prices. Accessible rooms are great.

Cons:

Sometimes the pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna can be over crowded. At times it was quite cold on the bar/ restaurant area.

Very good location and lovely place and staff
Pros:

Good and large buffet Breakfast with gluten free Cereal and bread. Breakfast staff were really polite and lovely!
Location and gardens. Really close to Leeds airport
Loads of facilities in spa but we sadly didnt get to use them - one more reason to come back.
Very large rooms and comfortable beds. We had the interconnected double rooms with 2 double beds each as we were travelling with our family and it was fun.
Baby friendly! Our 5w old baby loved it

Cons:

One of the beds in our room had a massive stain on the sheets. Luckily it was the extra bed that we didn't use
