Air conditioning system was horrible.. only air .. no cold.. discussed but not fully addressed
We were in the start for a wedding, so the location was fabulous for walking to get coffee, breakfast, dinner or drinks. The pool and hot tub we clean and running. We enjoyed access to decanters of ice water..one was diffused with oranges.
The temperature regulation of the room was very difficult to sustain. We were told it was being worked on but our room was not comfortable. The bed was very hard. There was not any type of breakfast (even coffee) served at this hotel. They did have a “coffee bar” but it didn’t open until 7 and was very limited and extremely pricey.
Location to downtown.
Had to change rooms due a severe chemical smell in the room.
We booked a king size bed. When we arrived we were told that we got two doubles because the hotel was overbooked. We didn't make a big deal. We were also told that the air conditioning was broken and if the room was too hot, shut off the thermostat and open the sliding door. When we got to our room, we realized that the door opened to the indoor pool area. The pool was open till 11pm. It felt like 90 degrees in the room and smelled like chlorine. We dealt with it the first night. On night two, we dealt with screaming children in the pool past 11pm. We couldn't open the door unless we wanted to listen to the screaming even louder. I called the front desk to complain and was told that there were no other rooms available. I told them the pool needed to be shut down and the staff said they would get on it. Ten minutes later, still screaming. The staff said I would have better luck the next day and that we could get free breakfast. I replied that this was unacceptable. I asked for a refund and stated I would go somewhere else. I was told I had to wait until the next morning. The next morning we visited the front desk. The man in line in front of us was complaining about the same issue. Staff told him they would change rooms. We were told the same and that we would receive a call. We never got the call. Checked at the front desk around 4:30pm and we're finally given another room. Staff told us that they don't book the rooms that adjoining the pool unless they are overbooked. Lucky us... No real apologies were given, just excuses. Not my problem. I will not be Staying at a Marriott any time in the near future.
The staff was nice and the hotel was very clean.
There was NO A/C. Staff said the HVAC was down for repairs. It was almost unbearable even with windows open and a fan supplied by the front desk. This should have been told to guest when booking so other arrangements could be made with no cancellation charge.
Good location, very quiet. I liked that I could open the windows to bring in fresh air. The front desk staff was friendly.
I opted not to have breakfast. I couldn't see paying $10 for a bowl of oatmeal, and $7 for a cup of regular coffee. Other items were higher priced. I was surprised that there were no bottles of water in the room. Other hotel chains and boutique hotels at which I've stayed always have at least two bottles of water.
The room was HOT! When I dialed the front desk, they said that the room temperature was set to 72 degrees, and couldn't be changed, but that if I turned off the heater, I could open the windows for cool air - this would have been useful information to have at check-in.
The hotel scent, while pleasant, was too heavy and cloying. The actual entrance to the hotel was difficult to find, as it faced a strip mall and not a street.
Very good experience overall!
