Everyone was friendly
Nothing it was perfect for what we needed
Convenient to the convention center. Valet parking and staff were so helpful.
Rooms and Hallways were dark. There was a roach crawling across the floor while we were changing for bed. The shower leaked water into the floor. When cleaning up the water the white towel was filthy from the floor.
Very clean, great breakfast, staff was so helpful and overall we loved our stay.
Nothing 😊
View from the room
Hallways smelled humid and hot
location is great, best thing about it.
the property was not full but they put me on a floor with a fan running in the hallway to dry out the carpet; the room was musty and a bit sad, the windows were very dirty; I asked a few times about close restaurants and the staff was unaware of where anything was although friendly; I was a single woman on business and could have been upgraded to a better floor (I was on the second floor) with a nicer room but... I would choose another hotel nearby as this was not much better than a very basic motel with better branding in theory
Personnel support and good customer service.
Bathroom was badly repaired and provided and not so clean sensation. Shower tub had oxidation on the drainage area.
Near to location
The bathroom are overflowing
We booked three nights and left after one.
This hotel is under renovation. This was not disclosed during booking.
Normally, when I've stayed at a hotel that is being remodeled, the remodeling is contained to areas where guests are not staying. This was not the case at this hotel. They are apparently working on multiple floors at the same time. We were first assigned to a corner room on a low floor with a phone that didn't work and we requested a different floor. Both rooms required us to walk down a long, tarp-covered hallway that was filthy with drywall dust.
Construction noise was supposed to start at 9AM, but started around 8:10.
My husband and I both woke up with allergy symptoms, either from breathing the dust or from the strong scents of cleaning products in the rooms. So we left.
In addition to the construction issue, the room is incredibly uncomfortable.
The curtains don't reach all the way to the ends of the windows, so light comes in.
Instead of bedside lamps, they have hanging pendants - horrible for reading in bed but great for giving an interrogation room feel.
The sofa in the room is super cheap and uncomfortable, nowhere you'd want to sit for any reason.
The bathroom door is a translucent barn door. Barn doors on bathrooms are horrible, but this one takes it to the next level since it's translucent! Want to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night?? If you turn the light on, it lights up the entire room and now your spouse is now awake as well.
The bed was hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable.
I feel like a fool because I had booked an independent hotel in downtown Durham but started to wonder about the quality. So I switched it to the Marriott. I thought that the flagship Marriott hotels signaled a high quality product, but I hadn't stayed in one in a while. At $400ish/night I was shocked at the whole experience.
The event was super easy to navigate with accommodations so close.

Location and comfort
Should be coffee available to all in the lobby
Renovations on our floor and gym closed
Can’t say enough about how great Christopher is at the front desk, friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He truly set the tone for a wonderful stay. The hotel is currently undergoing bathroom renovations, but you’d hardly notice if not for the signs. Everything is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
The rooms are modern, nicely designed, and include convenient touches like a mini fridge. The property’s location is fantastic, with walking trails and plenty to do nearby, including easy access to Duke’s campus.
That said, the rooms let in quite a bit of outside noise, which can be disruptive at night. It’s somewhat expected downtown, but better soundproofing would make a big difference. Overall, a solid stay with excellent staff—just wish it were a bit quieter.
I used booking.com website to book a hotel in Durham England. Despite your website telling me the hotel was 0.3 miles from my location, you booked me into a hotel 3,000 miles away in USA.
!!!!
Great
Excellent hotel well organized
The hotels.com booking was not registered when I arrived at the hotel, so I had to wait ~30 minutes before I could check in. The attendant had to manually put the booking together. The hotel was under construction in parts and in the hallway where my room was located, so that was a nuisance. I had to park a car, which was expensive for the location and wasn't well advertised. Bartender was great.
