Historic, well maintained hotel, especially well situated for train travelers
Pros:

Great location! Short walk to Train depot, Ferry boat, Harder Kulm, and free buses to downtown. Elegant historic older property, with appropriate updates. Beautiful riverside patio. Well appointed rooms with little balcony off of the bathroom. Comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Gracious hotel courtesy shuttle. Lovely breakfast buffet with broad selection of items.

Cons:

Little difficulty with lighting which was quickly rectified. Minute detail.

Super Service, sehr hilfsbereite, aufmerksame und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Alles top!

Cons:

Ich war zuerst in einem Zimmer, das recht wenig Lichteinfall hatte, konnte aber sofort nachdem ich das angesprochen hatte, in ein sehr schönes Zimmer umziehen.

Location next to the train station and on the quieter side of town was wonderful.
Pros:

A tremendously diverse amount of breakfast selections. Very fresh. Excellent servers.

Cons:

Beds were on the firm side. Pillows on the soft side.

Cons:

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt aus meiner Sicht überhaupt nicht. Die Matratzen sind stark durchgelegen, sodass man jede einzelne Feder spürt. Dem Hotel scheint dieses Problem bekannt zu sein. Insgesamt wirkt das Haus in fast allen Bereichen stark renovierungsbedürftig.

Dies ist die erste Hotelbewertung, die ich schreibe, in der ich leider keine Empfehlung aussprechen kann.

Beautiful building and grounds, pool with a view of the mountains, great breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, included and replenished minibar, coffee machine, bear cookies in the evening, great location.

Cons:

No AC. Small hand towels would be nice.
