Perfect location and nice size room!
Pros:

Excellent location, right off cannery row and the coast guard pier. I was able to walk to lovers point beach, the aquarium, and fisherman's warf. Very clean and pretty large room with vaulted ceilings. Bathroom was nice and spacious.
I loved how well lit the room was too.

Cons:

The screen wasn't installed to the balcony, not really a big deal as I didn't spend too much time in the room.
I was there during the week so parking was fine but I can imagine it might get tough on weekends. There is street parking around the hotel though.

Location was everything. Close to the beach + quiet at night!
Pros:

Location, location, LOCATION!!! It was a literal 2 minute walk to the beach. Perfect if you have young children!i would definitely stay here again. Also, our room had an outdoor patio which was a nice touch. The area felt safe and at night it was quiet enough that I can hear the ocean with the patio door open.

Cons:

Room was a little outdated & super thick pillows.

Good location
Pros:

The room was clean and had a door to a terrace we could use. The bathroom was spacious and offered enough shelves to store our things. We also appreciated the fridge.

Cons:

The street our room faced was pretty noisy. The coffee maker in the lobby was hardly ever working, especially in the morning we were never able to get a coffee or tea. Also, in the Monterey Area you learn a lot about marine life and how waste and excessive plastic in the ocean harms marine wildlife. At the same time, coffee cups in the lobby and rooms are individually wrapped in plastic. This is completely unnecessary and a more environmentally friendly style would be a great improvement.

A nice option if you like a water view at a decent price.
Pros:

One of the few affordable balcony rooms with a bay view. The new coffee machine is a nice touch.

Cons:

One trash can and a squeaky new cheap bed frame were our main complaints.

Gute Unterkunft für einen Roadtrip
Pros:

Die Lage ist sehr gut, man kann schön in Richtung Hafen laufen. Ein Zimmer mit Meerblick top das ganze natürlich, hatten wir nun nicht gebucht war für 1 Nacht auch nicht nötig, waren eh kaum auf dem Zimmer. Gut war auch dass wir uns Kaffee / Tee etc. von den Automaten an der Rezeption holen konnten.

Mold, dirty, poor management
Pros:

There’s mold at this hotel. Upon check in our room (102) smelled so bad of bleach we couldn’t stand it. We asked for another room. They said they don’t do room changes, just air it out. Since the heavy bleach smell was a red flag, we looked around the room at the cleanliness- it was very dirty and we found mold in the bathroom, under the bed, and under the AC. We let the front desk know and the manager (David H) told the staff on duty to relay to us that they don’t do room changes and there were no rooms available (which wasn’t true because I could hop online and see there were rooms that could be booked). So we had no choice to leave the hotel for safety reasons (this was fairly immediate after seeing the room). We requested a refund and the manager refused. The next day my husband walked down and talked to David the manager and showed him the spots in the room. David said it looked acceptable to him and he would only refund us for one of the nights. Poor service, unprofessional, dirty, moldy, beware. Trust us- do NOT stay here.
