The room was on it's way to being updated... new flooring and baseboards. The beds were comfortable. The location is right in the heart of downtown which is nice.
The rest of the hotel is quite run down -- old , stained carpets, peeling paint, the bathroom in our unit didn't have a working fan (and also didn't come with any soap). The windows in the hallways looking out to the courtyard were stained with bird poop, but also left open, so there were leaves and bugs coming in the windows.
Booking and checking in was easy.
This hotel is VERY outdated.. which my husband and I found interesting considering it's not even 20 yrs old. It smelled like deodorizer that's trying to cover up some REALLY BAD SMELLS. The door numbers were printed on white paper and scotch taped to the doors. The carpets and trim were in VERY bad dis repair. The beds definitely were not comfortable. We aren't picky - just need a place to lay your head right? However, this one was particularly 'laughable' ... lol. Good luck!
Simple efficient no frills overall well managed place
Extremely noisy heating / airconditioning
We were given a room that was in disrepair (stained, broken ceiling tiles, terrible bathroom, like an old trailer bathroom with broken cabinet doors). Every piece of furniture was broken, scraped, and gouged. We had to unplug the fridge because it was squealing so loud, the fridge itself was overheating and it was not cooling inside. We were there for a family wedding and in the throws of prep and visiting other family members so we thought we would just sleep there and not be in the room much as it was so bad. BUT when we returned a few hours later, the ceiling was dripping as there was a big puddle on the bathroom floor, the tiles were breaking away so we had to be moved. Moved to a room which was in the middle of repair, wires across the fireplace, a random box fan on the mantle. TV was not hooked up. AGAIN a terrible bathroom situation, plus only one hand towel, one facecloth for two people. Baseboards were sawed off halfway through a wall, and to top it off at just past 8am on the Sunday morning after the wedding we were awoken to workers ripping up the carpet from underneath our door and tearing up the hallway. My husband had to kill two spiders - and there were marks on the walls where others before us were squishing the big ones as there were spider kill stains on every wall. IT WAS BAD! Oh and we were also disturbed Saturday morning with staff knocking on our door asking if we were going to check out..... nope, we were booked for two nights. I get renos need to happen (and they REALLY NEED to happen in this old hotel), but close off a floor and do it. Don't rent out rooms in such disrepair, or in the middle of partial repair and for God sake, don't start construction on the floor at 8 something Sunday morning. I talked to the front desk about them needing to do better, and the guy just said, he will make notes. What does that do for us? Nothing. NASTY place.
Location was good. Had AC in room.
Hotel was very run down, with a very weird smell. Pillows were lumpy. Appliances were old. Just quite unclean in general.
Front desk service was excellent. There was a overcharge on my visa and it was taken care of promptly. I will be returning again.
I should of stayed 3 days instead of 2. Love the location and have always stayed at this hotel for many years.excellent price.
We were told that we would have complementary usage of the hotel at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel. When we arrive, they told us that we had to go to the public pool in town. The carpets are absolutely filthy stained. All the baseboards in the hallway are missing, the bathroom is held together literally with duct tape. Do not stay in this hotel.
The location.
The whole buildings falling apart. Nothings been washed or wiped down. Carpets are discusting. Floors not swept. Jet tub in room didn’t work Ya walk through garbage and cigarette butts in the parkade to get to the elevator that ya wouldn’t wanna touch the walls. Grabbed my room key and went upstairs. Beds were slept in and room was dirty. Switched fo a different room and when I walked in the carpets were stained and soiled. Didn’t feel as though I could take my socks off.
Nothing.
The worst hotel experience in years. Avoid!
This hotel is in terrible condition. Both the rooms and the public areas are dirty. The place desperately needs a major renovation, and they are clearly understaffed, as there is no one to keep the place clean and tidy.
On top of that, the main doors are left wide open all night with absolutely no one at the reception desk, which is a huge safety violation for the guests.
I highly recommend avoiding this hotel. It was hands down the worst experience we’ve had in all our years of traveling.
check in: 4pm only, ID, Car Licence # - no damage deposit parking underground with lots of swallows. 3rd floor - kitchen smell from neighbours, barking dog, courtroom view, dble beds ok, room clean, only plastic cups - not eco-friendly
Sasquatch days- native event weekend, canoe races, indigenous dancers.Public mineral pool closed
